Nothing is 'set in stone' yet. The WBA have 'suggested' the need for a rematch, and the two camps have started discussions. If other attractive offers come the champ's way, he may very well go down them paths, as nothing mandatory has yet happened.

I think a rematch is fair. Don't know if Crolla can box that well again. I thought he boxed out of his skin and got two points taken from Perez. Sometimes you think maybe your big chance has passed you by. Hopefully he can prove me wrong.

The kid (Crolla) is fortunate to get a rematch, how did he even get a shot? That's boxing for you, the rankings aren't worth the paper they are written on.

I remember Burns and Hearn saying they would give Beltran an immediate rematch. Few days later Became apparent TR didn't want it, they wanted Crawford to fight Burns. Granted people only ever tell you what they want you to hear but also think I remember reading an article where Beltran praised matchroom for offering the rematch even though he couldn't take it

    From Skysports 11th Nov 2013

"We received a letter from the WBO on Friday to the effect that we must begin negotiations with Crawford's people, adding that we should get back to them within 30 days stating where we are at," Hearn told the Scotsman.

Burns was hoping to face Raymundo Beltran in a rematch after their first meeting in Glasgow in September ended in a controversial draw.

The 30-year-old suffered a broken jaw in the second round and felt that handing the Mexican a rematch was the honourable thing to do.

However, the WBO have told Burns' promoter, Eddie Hearn, that he has until December 8 to negotiate a defence with undefeated Crawford.

"We received a letter from the WBO on Friday to the effect that we must begin negotiations with Crawford's people, adding that we should get back to them within 30 days stating where we are at," Hearn told the Scotsman.

"But it's quite a complex situation. Top Rank represents both Beltran and Crawford and we made an offer which Beltran's team was happy with but Top Rank was not."

"In the meantime, I have asked the WBO for a voluntary defence against Beltran in February. I am also in talks with Miguel Vazquez and Ricahr Abril regarding a unification bout that would supersede a mandatory defence so there are lots going on.

"If it has to be Crawford then we will fight him," added Hearn. "But the fight everyone wants to see is Beltran and it is the right fight for boxing after what happened last time."

Incorrect, they have ordered the rematch, it has to happen or Perez will be stripped of the title, also for those who mentioned Derry they named an opponent that he must face in order to gain mandatory position and the fight between the two winners has to take place immediately after.

They have ordered a rematch; it does not mean they will strip Perez if negotiations do not work out. They may not necessarily take purse bids, in that case it really depends on what Perez has planned.
