    Ah that's probably the problem then. As far as we know, the opponent must tick most of these boxes:

    * Low KO ratio
    * Has less than 1 good win on his record
    * Must have held some kind of WBO title (be it interim African, interim continental etc)
    * Must not be able to fully pass a fitness test
    * Doesn't believe he can win

    I believe it will be Murray. He is there for the taking right now after coming off 2 ko losses. Quote me :good

    BTW lads, cracked me up with this thread. Just goes to show Burns is wasting his talent fighting nobodies. JMM would be the fight to go for. If Burns loses then he loses but at least he can hold his head up high saying he fought the very best he could do. Fighting the Evensen's and Laryea's of this world get's you nowhere and after the win over a faded Katsidis he should look for the bigtime now.

    Unless he is getting a career high pay day, I would turn it down if I was JOhn, try have another run build up some confidence and change a few things he is young enough.

    Taking this fight would basically be him finsished for me, Burns could possibly stop him.

    John was only ever signed for his scalp by Frank. Why not finish him off now because Murray needs time, effort and money to rebuild to anything considered world class. He hasn't the ability above domestic/low european level so Frank might as well feed him to Burns and ask Dave P to stop it after 4 rounds or summat and then the line 'Burns is a world beater no doubt, he stopped a tough John Murray quicker than Rios did'. :deal

    Would be because Murray can bang but he can be outboxed pretty easily. Burns height and reach helps to dictate fight and the jab is the key (to quote Richie woodhall), Murray will be looking for head shots but will instead be picked off by Ricky. Ref stops fight mid fight or Burns UD for me in a relatively easy fight when you consider the challenge faced of the elite in division.

    The Murray before Mitchell would of been a better fight but as a fan I am happy to see a decent opponent rather than a drafted in knockover job.

    I wouldn't mind seeing it, but I am talking from John's position I would turn it down for the sake of his career, he needs a rest he took a beating in that Rios fight and in truth Gallagher should of puller him out earlier there was no way he was winning that fight and he took some punishment he shouldn't have.

    And he wasn't signed for his scalp at all he was suppose to end Kevin Mitchell that was ******s script anyway that didnt go to plan, Murray was signed to be the " new ricky Hatton " but poor Frank got that totally wrong and under estimated Kevin Mitchell.

    If the Martinez and Katsidis fights are anything to go by, Ricky's pretty adept at handling pressure fighters, Murray would have been the perfect foil for him. According to Twitter though, Murray's been rat-arsed since the 20th of Dec, so might be an ask to whip him into fighting shape for March.

    In comparison to Burns last opponents I would say so. Not a KO artist by any means but his punches certainly hurt.

    Stopping nearly 2 thirds of your opponents is good form, TKO's mainly but Murray certainly hits a damn site harder than Crolla.
