Apologies, this thread isn't another routine ***** fest between GGG/Canelo/Mayweather/Pac fans - forgive me. If million dollar Crolla, who has recently knocked out Perez and Barroso, beats Linares this weekend, where does that place him in relation to other lightweights? Will people finally say 'yes, he's one of the best' or 'he still ain't a top 5 lightweight'.
I slightly favor him to win (stopping Linares) and if I'm right, I would gladly admit that I was wrong about yet another Brit. He surely ranks top5 at Lightweight already, but certainly if he takes care of Jorge. Though it has to be said, LW isn't a very strong division.
Don't care about any of these garbage men who call themselves Lightweights. Mikey Garcia is the only Lightweight I'm concerned about. Is he still fighting for the vacant WBC title?
He's already top 5 win or lose. If he beats Linares, and I believe he will, he has a good case for being #1. That would be a great achievement for Ant, but also an indictment of a terrible division right now. Wtf is Gamboa upto btw?
If he beats Linares he is definitely top 5 I think Zlatacanin has the style to beat both these men. Linares ducked him already not sure if Crolla would take it he probably would as he has taken fought fights recently
I would be stunned if Crolla actually pulled it off... But I'm banking on the number 12 for some odd reason!
Linarez, Crolla and Barthelemy have the top 3 resumes at LW. Fair to say that the winner between Linares and Crolla will be king.
british fighters can be hard to beat in fights like this. The combination of great fans and hometown advantage is making them strong. Linares should be able to outbox Crolla. But his chin can change everything and Crolla has the belief in himself to fight until the final bell.
Fancy Crolla by KO. Prime Linares outboxes Crolla and possibly stops him late. Feel Linares is just a tad over the hill. He's also notoriously chinny and prone to cutting up.
