https://www.espn.com/olympics/story...6-rio-de-janeiro-olympics-investigation-finds Just imagine if they can do this at the Olympics, with the world watching....what can be done at the pros where millions of dollars are involved. Just a week ago we had Hatton win a decision he clearly lost...and it seems to have been forgotten already.
Professional and amateur boxing are obviously corrupt through and through. It's not in the slightest subtle, but nothing is ever done because there's only a vocal minority
Mostly butthurt complainers who can't deal with reality. Sure there's occasional actual "corruption" but it's only a fraction of what fools like you complain about everyday. It's like the boy who cried wolf. You can cry wolf over and over again as a practical joke, but then what happens when there's a real wolf out there and you cry. People won't believe you because everybody's so used to you crying wolf so often you've become a joke and people get used to that, so when there's a real wolf no one will hear your cries.
Sometimes I think that AIBA and other organizations generate reports like this as a way of saying "open for business." "Yes, Mr. Investigator, I learned my predecessor solicited $250k to fix a gold medal match. Make sure you print that exactly, $250k for a fixed gold medal match." What can even be done at this point?
That why records mean jack ****, it's who you beat and those who are wise know the true ATG's who actually beat the best fighters.
Boxing corruption, and/ or bad decisions, seem go hand in hand with the Olympics. AIBA itself has acknowledged there's been a problem. I remember Roy Jones being robbed at the '88 Olympics. Terrible decision. Levit being robbed against Tishchenko in the 2016 heavyweight final was a shocker. There have been many other decisions down the years which left many puzzled. Home country favouritism probably accounts for some of it as in Korea 88. I believe where there's big money and power/influence, there can often be corruption and big-time boxing has long had a name as a shady sport. I do think the Tokyo Olympics comp seemed to be an improvement on past Games in that regard however so maybe things will get better. Things will never get better if people just stick their heads in the sand like an ostrich.
Boxing was the worst experience I had at the Sydney Olympics. The crowd were booing decisions in favour of boxers from their own country, they were that awful. The other sports I went to all seemed legit but amateur boxing has been rotten for many years. I would never go to another amateur event unless they cleaned house. Properly.
**** off you naive oblivious imbecile. Your opinion is irrelevant.. And it's quite obvious you're saying this stuff to subtly (it's not subtle to anyone who has read your posts that 95% of the time link back to Canelo ) minimise or act like there's no corruption in relation to your lord and saviour Canelo. **** off
