thats a really bad run on sentence... but cross country will definatly help... and u could always run on ur own... but keep up the heavy bag stuff if u were taught it from a proper trainer

I run cross country for my school, and it really works wonders on conditioning.

When it's just roadwork, you're not really motivated to push yourself, but when you're training to run a race, the competitive aspect, at least for me, is a good driving force. Of course, I'm naturally competitive, so the effect may vary person to person.

Also, XC will teach you all sorts of interresting kinds of runs/running workouts that should, when you are just doing roadwork, allow you to kind of play around and enjoy some variety instead of doing the same goddamn 5 mile run every goddamn morning.

    Good luck!

i use to do footy for skool (saturday sport... yes i no that sucks ass) and was always getting injured all the time and couldnt do my boxing training as much which was driving me insane... since then iv gone into cross country so that my fitness was much better for boxing.Cross country not only helps you to become more physicaly prepared for a fight ,or if ur just sparring, but mentally aswell. i was running an extra 20 odd KM a week added onto my usual training/running and you realy can feel the difference .

Definately run cross country or track for school if you're looking to cut fat. Worked wonders for me in both appearance and conditioning. If you lift and try to lose weight, you may run into the "steady weight" where you think you aren't losing weight because the weight hasn't changed when you're really putting on muscle and cutting fat.

I ran cross country in high school. It gets you in incredible shape. Never have to worry about doing your roadwork, that's for sure. And you would know that the roadwork you were doing was superior to most of your opponents. It would be a big plus for your boxing training.

hell yeah cross country will work

i boxed for 2 yrs before i ran X-Country and it worked wonders, i was never tried and had agility and was lite on my feet
the only thing is you lose a lot weight and muscle
but you will be cut up... after the seasons is over you need to build the muscle up.. but your stomach will straight

the only bad thing is that cross country is rough on you body
you will always be sore and like i said before you will lose a lot of muscle mass
but you can eat whatever you like.. your body will be like a furance .. you will be sweating all daY

You can't gain muscle if you're losing weight.

There is one thing you guys should when jogging long distances is not to exceed 20 minutes whether jogging or running.
This will cause you to not only lose weight but also muscle.

Because jogging for long time start to destroy muscle tissues which can be bad in a way.
someone could do further research and find out more in dept about it.
