Crossover Fights

I don’t really understand the term crossover fight. To me it implies a mix of rules between two guys from different sports, but in reality it just means a boxer boxing a guy that isn’t a boxer. If Canelo boxed Ronnie O’Sullivan, would that be a crossover fight?

If it’s to find out who’s the ‘baddest man on the planet’ then eradicate rules and sport and just have a fight.

It’s like saying who’s the best team in the world by having Man City play a football match against the New Zealand rugby team.

It's just another way to milk money from casuals. While Ngannou is a professional MMA fighter he's not a professional boxer. Completely different sport. So fighting a champion boxer is just silly. He clearly has no chance. Just like MacGregor had no chance against Mayweather.

They can hype it all they want. But It's basically a con trick.

Will probably do good ppv though as there's plenty of mugs out there.
