Ali v Moore ? I dont see any sadism there.Ali's cruelest fight would be with Terrell imo. Gonzales against Snipes was pretty nasty ,the big Cuban tortured Snipes,I was glad to see Bowe beat the **** out of him.Johnson v |Burns and Jeffries were pretty gratuitously cruel ,but Burns had called Johnson names for years and only the day before referred to him as a"damned hyena" .Given that the tune played all day at the Jeffries Johnson fight was"All c***s look alike to me" ,Its hardly surprising that Johnson relished his moment in the sun ,the ring was one place he wouldnt get lynched for beating the crap out of a racist white man

Lamotta v Janiro is another. I have never seen the fight myself, but it's quite well known that Lamotta went out of his way to hurt and maim Janiro in that fight.
Lamotta's wife had innocuously commented that Janiro was a good-looking guy, and Jake sought personal revenge by savaging Janiro's face as much as possible.
It's also said Lamotta could have finished him off, but chose to let it go the distance in order to exact yet more punishment.

It has to be Dempsey Willard. I've never seen such a horrific beating in a boxing ring before.
Holmes Cobb was fairly brutal as well.

Now THIS was a cruel beating. Haugen was the sacrificial white Gringo in this fight for "insulting the honor of May-he-co" and for insulting Chavez as well. He sure paid for it.

This was the ultimate brutal knockout in my opinion, in a way, just as devastating as the ending of the first Marciano-Walcott fight.

From what I remember about that fight, it was that Gonzales was labouring unable to finish Snipes, rather than trying to cruelly prolong a beating.

Yep. The 'Tijuana taxi drivers' line must have really gotten to Chavez.

It sure didn't help Haugen at all, now that you mention it.
