Haye has serious power in his jab, let alone his power punches. He could easily beat any HW and I'd back him to give Wlad fits.
Give them time to train with the extra weight, and I'd pick most of the guys in the CW top 10 to beat the guys in the lower half of the HW top 10. On a level of pure skill, the CWs are generally just much better. Heck, I'd probably pick 5 or 6 of them to beat Maskaev or Ibragamov.
Yep! Huck! He is still a very crude fighter,a rough diamond, but he has genuine firepower. Though he lost to his slick foe Cunningham in his last outing to a ring even in that fight it could be seen that he has pop in his fists. He tends to rely too heavily on his firepower trying to take his foe out with a single shot.Thats why he lost to Cunningham,a fighter he should have been able to defeat if he had fully been concentrated on boxing instead of aiming for the one devastating shot.
:nut Forget the chin, Haye better tighten up that defense or he will be laid out by any big puncher. Stamina and chin remain big question marks. Only way to find out is if or when he steps up to hw. You can't project his cruiserweight success to hw. He needs to prove it against quality hws, not named bonin. Im looking forward to seeing him live for the first time against macca on showtime though.
that would be quite interesting actually not forgetting adamek isnt huge so holyfield is naturally a lot bigger. i would actually call it a 50/50 fight
This is stupid. Heavyweight boxers get more $$$ than cruiserweight boxers. If they could trash the current heavyweights, then they would be boxing at heavyweight to earn money wouldn't they! Some, like Haye and Alexeev may move up in weight, but we have yet to see if they can handle the real good big guys.
Sure. Probably most of the top five or so could move up to heavyweight and have a shot at beating the Tony Thompsons, Wladimir Vichises and Ibragimovs of the division. I don't think it's terribly unlikely Haye could move up and have a legitimate chance at taking a belt.
Nonsense. Huck was boxed senseless and stopped by a slick but fairly light punching cruiser. He was absolutely embarassed and showed nothing to make me think he could beat any of the current Cruiser belt holders, let alone the heavies. Enzo is both a bigger puncher and a better boxer than Huck yet I don't think he's even going to make it past Haye next week, let alone make any sort of noise at heavy. Huck just plain isn't a world level fighter. His power is decent, but he's slow and ponderous and lacking in any sort of the tactical subtlety that a smaller man is going to need at heavy. He was seroiously exposed last time out for what I always said he was; a crude slugger with no plan B. He isn't outboxing or outpunching any of the current champs, be they cruisers or heavies.
I quite disagree with you. Enzo isnt the bigger puncher. Enzo needed 8 rounds to take Delaney out ,went the full distance with Abdoul as well as with Hobson, and needed 4 rounds to stop an overmatched Arab from New Zealand who was easily stopped by rising cruiser weight talent Hernandez in the very first round of their encounter. Huck is a crude fighter who still needs to learn a lot of things. The talent is there, and so is the firepower. And yes, you are right in saying that he performed very poorly against Cunningham.Huck had the upper hand in firepower, but instead of boxing he tried to land the one deciding punch. It never came.Stupid tactic.Huck is still a greenhorn.Anyway! The firepower is there. He lost to a fighter he shou ld have beaten quite easily. He had beaten and almost schooled Tokarev before.Tokarev is a genuine top 10 fighter.Huck looked great against the strong Russian puncher.Huck totally dispappointed against Cunningham. To be honest I didnt expect that outcome.Cunningham had shown two lucklastre and not very convincing performances against Wlodarcyzk, who I for my part wouldnt event count among the top 10 of his weight division. As for Huck 's future again I disagree with you.He is a very young fighter,21 years old.He didnt have a long amateur career, nor has he fought that often in the paid ranks. He will come back. Whoever beat Tokarev as convincingly as Huck did has the tools to be a great fighter.
