With the money being in the HW division it's surprising more Cruisers aren't moving up. The likes of glowacki shumenov huck & lebedev spring to mind as being some of the top Cruisers around at the minute
If you're weighing 210+ it makes zero sense to me to go and earn comparitively rubbish money for fighting similarly sized guys.
Even a low calibre fight at HW between say the likes of briggs browne would pull in more money than a unification fight at CW .any Cruisers that walk around at 210+ should be at HW if there not it doesn't say much for their confidence or ability
I hope Usyk will move after he owns the division. Also Huck tried but got robbed in his match with Povetkin.
Shumenov has already stepped up from light heavyweight Huck already stepped up but lost to Povetkin, he said last year he wanted to step up again, but is still a cruiser. Guys like Glowacki and Masternak are to short to become HW. The Cruiserweight is a European division, there are no American Cruisers who are world class at the moment and I think the Crusierweight is providing better match-ups then the heavyweights and that the cruiserweight is a deeper division.
Also I think every guy that dominates the cruisers should try in the heavyweights. The same thing as Huck did. He was the top dog there.
It's because heavies are too big and skilled. If Haye can't do it, then the whole CW division can't. Also, to do what Haye did, they have to rule the CW division first, then move up and act entitled to get into the top 10 and get title shots in the Heavyweight division.
