Povetkin will now travel to UK 15th August as he doesn’t need to quarantine. This means no sparring with chisora or Allen. I’m starting to fear the worst for Sasha.
A good limits test for both. WHo get the better of it? Majidov should have gone pro 4 years ago. Some think Sirenko has fast hands and a lot of power. I agree, but his competition is too suspect, and he was never a tough guy in the amateurs. I actually think the promoters need their own 4 man tournament of tier two undefeated prospects. The runner up and winner will have proven much.
He also beat Jalolov more than once, but that's mainly because it's southpaw vs southpaw and Kunkabayev has the better jab, I also rate him below Dychko and Kossobutskiy.
Going by recent interview on IFL looks like Allen Babic will be fighting Shawndell Winters August 22nd.
Today should be Wallin-Kaufman. Kaufman looks like he trained at Taco Bell, and Wallin should have this easily. Also, if not mentioned, Wallin's rival Granate is looking to make a comeback after getting his economics degree. Props to him for getting the piece of paper. I don't know what his future will be like in boxing, but there is always for a big, hard-hitting guy, and now he has an education to go to if things go sideways on him.
I dig Granat. But yeah not sure if boxing is the sport for him but props for giving it another go especially when he has something better and safer to fall back on. Granat needs to work on his jab and footwork if he's to have any chance at all. Has heavy hands/power, some decent punch variety. Maybe a tune up or two then maybe fight someone like Allen or Sokolowski. Both being dangerous journeyman who would probably expose him but should he win those he deserves to be taken seriously again. Alternatively Price or Browne would also be fun fights.
