Being Australian I did know that stuff and have thought of WM as a possible dark horse for some years.

I think he needs to make a commitment one way or another. Possibly he's onto that now ... so we will see.

If nothing else he might work himself into a position for a bit domestic fight with Huni at some stage, otherwise get into the world mix coz he still has some time on his side if he stays in the game from here on.

I apologize if this has already been reported...but prospect Amron Sands got TKO'd in the 3rd round against Alexis Garcia of the Dominican Republic - which is where the fight took place on March 12th.

I never rated Sands as he's yet another "I was a good but not good enough athlete at Sport X - so I'll ljust give boxing a shot" story - but I feel it's necessary to report this for the sake of completeness and to remind people that such stories rarely have many chapters before they have their sad ending ;)

Since I worry about "completeness", I'll mention that Garcia is 30 years-old and moves to 9-0-0 with 6 KOs. I'll leave it up to the reader to determine if Garcia is worth keeping an eye on or not.

HIines has a top US amateur a few years ago. His early pro fights don't look too noteworthy. Seems to be a pillow-fist. I read that he's taken Ray Edwards (!) on as his "manager":

    .

So he also seems to be foolish.

Spencer is not very good - but he has a couple Draws against Terrell Jamal Woods. Of course, TJW is not great but TJW has exposed a few prospects, himself, and if Spencer can hold his own against TJW - he can probably at least go the distance with Hines. He might even make the decision uncomfortable if Hines is as limited as I suspect he is.

Yeah made his NRL debut at 18 which says a lot about how good a league player he could have been. He originally chose league over boxing as well in around 2016 but switched back over to boxing.

Update on Hines. Apparently he was in Breazeale's training camp for the Wallin fight and got some tips from Abel Sanchez:

Trey Lippe Morrison made a successful return to the ring after 18+ months of inactivity with a 3rd round TKO win over Jason Bergman. This keeps both TLM's unbeaten record and unbroken string of stoppage wins intact.

But that doesn't tell the whole story. Bergman connected on TLM with a good left hand in round 1 that sent TLM down. It was incorrectly ruled a push by the ref. TLM settled in afterwards to box Bergman with more restraint - but the test was over in Round 3 when Bergman went down from a nasty-rolled ankle after missing a punch.

And thus Acosta's quest to become the first HW champion named "Waldo" comes to its bitter conclusion...

Though neither an official name nor nickname, Wladdy was often called "Waldo" by the American fans on this site.

TLM looked very pedestrian against a fat, out of shape blob. The kid ain't got it.

There's plenty of Waldo's out there in the world. Their time will come.

I don't think TLM has it either. But he hasn't trained regularly since he hurt himself leading up to the fight that supposed to follow the Ed Latimore win. I kind of liked that he got knocked down. It's good to learn that you can't just rush your opposition and try to lay into him.

Historically, Bergman wasn't a guy you fought to look good. He didn't do Parker any favors. I'd like to see TLM in there with somebody like Johnnie Rice. And it needs to be soon.

Looks like the Roney Hines-Brandon Spencer fight was called off. It's not shown in BoxRec any more.

Speaking of Hines. In every picture I've ever seen of him he's wearing a facial expression like that of an 8 year-old watching his father beat up his mother. Seems traumatized. Hope that it's a case of the camera just not getting him...
