I would really like to believe this is true for Hrgovic but I know in my heart that somehow it won't come off.
Also anyone else thinks it makes sense for Wilder to fight Charles Martin his next time out? Don't get me wrong, I have no interest in this fight, but from a promotional perspective you could bill it as two former champs, both on the verge of stopping their last opponents before being KOd, plus they share the same promotion and it would be a confidence booster for Wilder
I have always thought that it would make a good fight, but it just want happen. Martin would still be the third, or maybe fourth best guy Wilder shared a ring with. If he was making "title defenses" against guys like Szpilka and Molina, why take on Charles Martin now? Wilder will either crush a few cans, or think better of it all and hang them up.
Yeah I see this fight happening before Ortiz v Hrgovic. If I were Ortiz, I'd push for this instead of Hrgovic. Hrgovic will continue to get frozen out I feel.
I mean it makes sense for Ortiz to get a good payday vs Ruiz then the big risk little pay fight vs Hrgovic (though if he wins that he's got 1-2 nice paydays after)
Scumbag that he is, there is something sad in seeing Don King fallen to these levels..promoting guys like Lovejoy and Guidry. It is kind of like watching and aged, toothless Godzilla no longer ravaging Tokyo, but reduced to destroying Bellvue, Nebraska.
On updated WBA rankings Jonathan Guidry is now #13. They are absolutely shameless. Guidry is #256 on Boxrec.
