The IBF has ordered Jason Whately vs Mateusz Masternak to become the mandatory for the winner of Briedis vs Opetaia.
Considering Hunter lost to Forrest who was pretty well shut out by Pulev, I give Hughie a decent chance of out pointing Hunter.

Wait, a champion fighting his mandatory is going to have another mandatory immediately thereafter? Do these organizations even have any consistent rules?
Heavyweights Tom Schwarz (27-1) and Emir Ahmatovic (12-1) clash for the WBA Continental title at the Bill Clinton Sports Hall in Ferizaj, Kosova, on July 29. I don't like a wife-beater, but Schwarz did make a good start to his career before getting a level-check from Fury, and being derailed by his...er...legal troubles, and now he is being trained by Yoan Pablo Hernandez, so I actually expect that his career is going to go somewhere, even if he just gets back to fringe contender.
Michael Hunter vs Hughie Fury in Manchester is now official for July 2. also, Joe Joyce will fight TBA in London on that day (Parker has backed out).
Terrell Jamal Woods is back in action on 6/11 against 13-0 13 KOs fighter Raphael Akpejiori. Impressive record, but the 31 year old Nigerian has 9 first round KOs and 4 2nd round KOs and has fought only 2 fighters with winning records. This seems like an upset possibility for Woods who doesn't mind spoiling unbeaten records. Or he could pack it in and drop a decision if things get too heated. You never know. This will be the 89th fight for the 32 year old Woods.
Definitely. Though there was a wrinkle to that Forrest/Hunter fight that not many people know. Hunter was actually supposed to fight Joe Jones on that night - NOT Forrest. Jones is definitely a couple levels down (at least at his present level of development) from Forrest, so Hunter probably coasted during his camp figuring on an easy-touch opponent. Fedosov was supposed to fight Junior Wright that evening. Something fell through with Fedosov's camp and Probellum wound up shuffling around the card at the last minute to pair up Forrest with Hunter and Jones with Wright.
