Danny told me he sparred Oleg when they were both younger in their primes. In his own words “I dealt with him, BUT IT WAS TOUGH”.
https://x.com/spamBoxing/status/1702861668718407988 Badou looking to keep moving up it seems. Gotta give him credit for eventually vacating instead of holding up the division in case he loses his move to the bigger division. Also it appears Lerena will be fighting for an interim Bridger title. They are dead set on making this a real division
Rozanski? He's still the Bridgerweight title holder. He was supposed to fight Lerena, who won an eliminator against Merhy, but Lerena agreed to step aside so he could fight Badou Jack. Seems the compromise also included Lerena fighting for an interim belt. Jesus, now I'm talking like it's a serious weight class
This content is protected Why would Badou vacate the belt for the bridgerweight one is beyond me. Makabu-Gevor is okay.
what an amazing journey he had, that was a great win he had to take the belt from rahman i like the best ive faced series but often times feel its plagued by less than honest answers i liked maskaev's assessment and agree with him on his assessments of rahman and tua. It was interesting getting that insight on jefferson who was pretty dangerous and a guy like fields who i did not expect to come up made me think about how a rahman vs mccall fight would go interesting to mention sinan samil sam too who was in the WBC top 5 for a while and always in elimination bouts
Same exact tweet I posted but didn't show up for some reason. Nice to know the Twitter-X transition is going smoothly Gevor-Makabu is pretty good, just a bit miffed that Makabu is getting another shot despite doing nothing to earn it since losing it. But hey, WBC gonna WBC.
Yeah that's what's being worked on right now. It got announced as a potential fight a couple months back at least but then it kinda went radio silent, at least as far as I saw. Him vacating the belt now though does seem to indicate he's planning on doing that still.
Really hard to see Simon Kean having a real chance here, as he hasn't beaten anybody truly good in the division and he's made a meal out of a couple of fighters who were over-the-hill (e.g. Liakhovich, Winters). I really don't know why Top Rank added Kean to their heavyweight stable. I guess this gets Joseph Parker back in front of a N. American audience, though. Maybe a lead-in for a fight with Jared Anderson?
