They aren’t recognising many fights that happen inside of Russia. Instead they are listing them as Exhibitions. Suslenkov drew with Kingpin last year, beat Michael Hunter and Wilmer Vazquez this year. Kudryashov’s last 2 fights against DeAndre Savage and Robutti aren’t listed either.
The IBA Russian cards are the only ones, which aren't listed on Boxrec. I'm not sure whether IBA don't have an official right to sanction fights, or whether there is some bias due to the war in Ukraine. The fights there are professional like Rakhimov vs Nunez, and Boxrec is coming across as biased for not putting them on the website. During the first year of the pandemic in 2020, there were a couple of fights in Mexico with the likes of Berchelt and Navarrete who fought scrubs without the sanction of the Mexican Boxing Commission, and thus the fights were labeled as NCs. That's fine, but later those fights were overturned to wins. So yeah the whole gist of not having these fights on the website is kinda wack.
No, it's not because of Russian invasion in Ukraine. It's because IBA is officially banned by Olympic committee and has no rights to run any fights/shows. It was banned for corruption https://olympics.com/ioc/news/ioc-session-withdraws-recognition-of-international-boxing-association
And that's the only reason why BoxRec doesn't list IBA fights. They list other fights from Russia, the ones that aren't run by this corrupt organisation
They are very corrupt, yes, but there is no official verdict on them while IBA is officially banned by governing body (World Olympic committee) for corruption
Well, I get that, but they are in a bit of a pickle when they are declining to recognize WBA champions, aren't they? And what does that even mean...so when the WBA announces Muslim's record it will differ from what is on Boxrec?
There is also a win against Ebenezer Tetteh that is not credited to him. With Wilmer Vasquez, it first appeared on BoxRec, then it was removed. And the rest of the matches on the card are recognized???
well bridger for it's goofiness is the super cruiser, atomwieght of our time. it will happen. but WBA are clearly trying to get to ground quick before anyone else. and on 'proper'/'official' records, it has always been and forever been thus, from newspaper decisions to Ali Raymi. records only recently seem more concrete with boxrec and the electric boxing records. but that is an illusion. Prizefighter had the same issues ethically. are these guys having a pro match. then why is it 1x3? thats not a pro boxing match. ever. and is Jeff Lacy vs Toney Oakey 1 and 2 pro fights? it doesnt make it any more legit or not. either way. over time these will be wins with astrixes on them. but as of this year they'll be unofficial.
proven corruption though. i get it. ibf in the 80's officially. but wba and wbc also have seedy hands. also just looking up the IBA now has Chris Roberts as talking head....mate how ugly is that. involved in torturing prisoners in iraq is just stunning.
