Anyone know of Dronov won last night, or if the fight even came off: https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/867395
According to Dan Rafael's fight schedule, Mahmoud Charr vs. Kubrat Pulev is finally back on for December 7th. Hoping it actually comes off this time. Backing Pulev to win myself, he ain't the most entertaining but he's active at least. The WBA Regular belt got sued back into existence, might as well be on the line a bit instead of just lingering in the background with Charr. Plus the more activity with it involved, the more likely it ends up in the hands of someone who would seem less like an aberration upon becoming full champion when the belts are eventually vacated. Nothing against either man, but imagine Mahmoud Charr or Kubrat Pulev finally holding a major title, only it's in 2024 well out of their primes and by being elevated from a belt that wasn't even supposed to exist at this point. Ain't exactly a George Foreman story
Don’t know how this escaped me, but apparently Scott Welch has a son named Tommy who is currently 14-0 (9 KO’s) at heavyweight. I haven’t seen any fight of his yet, but for those who have, what’s the verdict?
Simply answer bro. Mairis Briedis, Jordan Thompson, Dorticos and Cieslak were all requested to fight an eliminator against Cinkara. They either declined or pursued other opportunities to fight for the world championship. Ultimately, Armend Xhoxhaj, ranked 7th or 8th, was asked and naturally accepted the chance. I find it unfair that lesser-known boxers are criticized just because they work their way up honestly. They simply don´t have powerful promoters like Mairis Briedis, Jordan Thompson, Zorro or Massey, who can fight for the championship without going through an eliminator. Its nice to see an organization finally stick to its own rules, unlike others. Jai could also fight Cinkara now, so why Massey in this case? You know that Cinkara is the mandatory challenger. And after this fight, we could have the unification bouts to look forward to, which we are all excited about! I love watching Opetaia boxing, but there are simply certain conditions.. Sorry, I just had to get this off my chest.
Hmmm. There is a mysterious 0-1 John Fury fighting today in Australia. Lat fight was 2020. It says he's from Australia, so I doubt it would be John Fury Jr., who apparently at one time was a boxer, but I thought it was notable. Maybe a cousin?
No need to apologize. You are completely bang on the buck for Cinkara's opportunity to fight for the title.
