Zakhozhyi looked pretty good last time around. Not sure how he works his way into a fight with a name opponent. Risk reward equation isn't on his side.
This content is protected Daniel Surov and Svetoslav Teterin rematch after their Russian championship final, on the same card as Kudryashov and Suslenkov.
Gevor-Rozicki has been postponed again. Rozicki will now rematch Yamil Peralta for the WBC Interim belt on December 7th in Canada. The winner will probably be elevated to the full time. Sucks for Gevor, but at least that title is out of Don King's hands. Here is their first bout. This content is protected
I am sure you know better than me but they have a long amateur history, with La Cruz usually getting the better, including in the Olympics, but Gadzhi winning their IBA pro fight. La Cruz was an amazing talent, but he is 35, will be fighting in a weight class 23 pounds over his natural weight, and has only been five or more rounds a couple of times. If Muslim is worth a damn he should win. It is very weird how they are making the WBA bridgerweight championship like and alternate universe of boxing, or something.
If Muslim wins, he needs to move up to heavyweight. The jury is out regarding how good he is but he either needs to go down to cruiser or move to heavy. Bridgerweight isn't a thing especially considering that the greatest heavyweight of the current era ia a 6'3 220 lb man. Its absurd. I hate to see any talent wasted. I am not saying that Gaz will set the world on fire. I have no idea. But he has decent ability and it should not be wasted at this absurd division.
Any news on the Pero brothers? Also any news on Lazizbek Mullajokov, the Uzbek cruiserweight Olympic Gold medalist? I am on the verge of giving up on Jalolov.
Glad to see Suslenkov fighting. Hopefully the Saudi's can look at guys like Suslenkov and Richard Torrez and start putting them on the undercards of their major cards. Guys like these produce knockouts which is what fans want. Yes, they are both on the smaller side for heavies but they have the power to compete and more importantly, make fights exciting.
The younger brother just fought on the PBC undercard last week. He won via KO. For the older one there isn't any news. For the Uzbek bros, probably they will fought later during the year, or the first quarter of 2025. Jalolov said that after the Paris games, he will focus on his pro career from here on out.
thanks. I am really eager to watch Jaolov fighting a top ten contender I am also super eager to see Mullajonov. I think he is a gem and i hope he can fight for the cruiserweight title in a few years.
Danier has been pretty active. Heading towards a pro showdown with Torrez sometime hopefully. Lanier is pretty lame ... seems to be in fight once every 18 months mode. Hope he gets beaten next time out so don't need to think about where he's at !
Very strange fight, and equally interesting indeed. Cruz style looked made for the amateurs, I'm not sure how he'll fare in a 12 round action. Muslim should get him out of there in the second half of the fight after being outboxed in the first half. It's always intriguing when amateur rivalries are carried into the pro ranks anyway.
