Issac Kali Meehan has one scheduled against someone named Joshua Greenhalgh on Feb 15. Issac seems a bit more serious than Willis.
Yes it is. I was meant to post this the other day. He shouldn’t have much trouble with Banks who’s tough, but a bit of a punching bag.
I was wrong, Dawejko got out manned. Banks too big and too tough. Ben Rothwell also one punch KO’d Mick Terrill.
There was that recent talk of Gassiev and Pulev but I have seen nothing in is subsequently, and Turkyi wants Itauma and Pulev, so I think we are just going to have to wait another year to see him fight a can.
Gassiev I can give a bit of a pass to because he's struggled with injuries, but Hunter and Ruiz I'd like to see knocked out of the HW conversation. Either they are in the sport as professionals or they're not. Now they're hanging around and not much more. I can understand inactivity from journeymen who don't want to take hits for modest money. But Ruiz and Hunter are throwing away that window of opportunity, those journeymen (and many non-Americans/non-names) would very much like to have open to them.
I liked the idea of this ... but on reflection, I'd rather it was Itauma. Gassiev beats Pulev, and there's every chance he takes a year off with another injury and the regular belt goes into limbo again. Itauma takes it and there will be a push to unify and rid ourselves of it once and for all (hopefully).
Pulev goes on to clear out the division of hyped rising contenders. However - it being the 2020s, there will probably be a rematch, then a trilogy if need be.
