I have been saying Parker is the right fight for a very long time, but you have to look at it from Usyk's end. Dubois is the one insulting his honor, and beating DDD is the one who makes him triple undisputed. I have a feeling he can be talked into a Parker fight next. The two of them were seen talking and they look pretty chummy. Maybe it's been worked out to where Parker got next? This content is protected
Results aren't up up on Boxrec but someone posted this nine hours ago for Dronov, so I think this was last night's fight: This content is protected
Nothing about him looks spectacular thus far, but he's big, he's got gold medals at the youth Olympics, the youth world championships, and the Youth European championships, they are fighting him often, and he is getting good sparring, for example with Tyson Fury. Best of all, he's 23. It seems like he has a good combination of physicality, experience, backing and youth, and he is actually doing a lot of the right things. Who knowns, at 23, it may take him ten years to get anywhere, but its just so much better following a guy like this than watching another American converted football player who is already 30, or another eastern European or central Asian amateur star who fights once every two years.
Spot on man. Me and a lot of others may not like Usyk fighting Dubois again, but Dubois has what Usyk wants, so it's what makes the most sense to him. Plus like you said, Dubois and his team have made it personal now... which is why I'm betting on Usyk to end it sooner and a lot more definitively. Making Usyk mad does not tend to go so well for the offending party. Folks forget that he can get downright vicious when he wants to. I hope you're right about Parker too. I personally don't believe Parker does anything to trouble Usyk, but he's been on a hell of a run lately and deserves to have his crack at the belts regardless of that. Damn shame that fight with Dubois didn't happen. I really think he had a good chance at beating him, and if that happened we wouldn't be looking at another rematch for Usyk. Or Dubois would've beaten Parker and I'd have less reason to ***** about it at least
I've always felt that. Why not? BTW, all the listings for this Thursday's Lerena-Radchenko bridgerweight battle say it's scheduled to be shown on DAZN. Everywhere except... DAZN's own site. WTF is up with that?
Things tend to get confusing with Bridgerweight man. I remember when the first WBA champion got stripped for failing a drug test, but no one heard about it for about a month because the only place that reported on it was some obscure German news site, if I remember right. If there was a god of Boxing, I'd take it as their way of saying "We don't care about this and neither should you"
Daniel Dubois is a man without honor. Old Fish Eyes is equally rotten. Usyk was unwise to give those undeserving grifters this opportunity with others like Parker and Kabayel more deserving. The deck will be stacked against Usyk in Wembley, with a Queensberry referee who allows Dubois to fight dirty. This content is protected
Got an answer from DAZN to my question: DAZN does not hold the official broadcasting rights for the Kevin Lerena vs. Serhiy Radchenko fight, which means the event will not be available for viewing on the DAZN platform. So, as to why every article and posting lists DAZN as the TV outlet, who knows?... But, just a reminder to take those postings with a grain of salt....
This content is protected Miller-Wardley potentially off. I've been seeing that Murat Gassiev is a possible replacement opponent. If him and Michael Hunter could both win that'd mean the subsequent consolidation fight would be between two guys Usyk beat at Cruiserweight, and he'd once again be dropping a title to a guy he'd beaten once he retires. Considering this is the WBA Regular Heavyweight Saga we're talking about though, I ain't ruling out the possibility that the Hunter fight also gets called off and we're right back to Pulev-Wardley being the outstanding order. It's ridiculous and means a bunch of time was wasted on fights that didn't materialize only to go back to the original plan, but it's also incredibly on brand
Petrovsky beat him quite convincingly a few times where he was out fought. He can be a decent level fighter though.
Adding to the confusion... it apparently is being carried by them, at least stateside. I got it pulled up on the DAZN app on my Roku right now. So either they got the rights in the last couple of days, they didn't know what the **** they were doing which is sadly on brand for them, or again... Boxing Gods telling us not to care Also, on the note of the Wardley fight I read the other day that Hrgovic had agreed to step in. Regardless of if he gets it or not, major props to this guy for being willing to step in the ring on short notice TWICE in such a small window of time. Anyways, it's apparently down to him or Justis Huni, up to Wardley to choose. Huni apparently just got added to the WBA rankings at #9 after being unranked previously, so I'm guessing it'll be him.
