A) Let's give him some time. He's only 32, has won twice in the same year for the first time since 2016, beat his best opponent since 2018. If he is finally feeling healthy, he can improve from there.

B) Look at the division...outside of Usyk, does he really need to be THAT good.

 

Gassiev has had enough time and lost to weak gatekeepers in the meantime at HW.

Wallin isn't a gatekeeper, he isn't plural, and Gassiev reinjured himself in the fight. He is apparently healthy now.

 

I have to lean slightly to Gassiev. I think Wilder is done but if there is a top guy Wilder has a chance against I think it is Gassiev. Pulev's right hand found the target a few times. If Wilder can just let the punch go I think he has a chance

 

What the hell is going on with the IBF eliminator? Have they found an opponent for Sanchez yet?

I love Gassiev but he doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt right now. The only thing of note he's done since losing to Usyk over 7 years ago is beat a 44 year old Pulev and KO aside he didn't exactly look great doing it.

 

He's got power in either fist and an iron chin. Fighters have done more with less. He won two in one year for the first time since 2016, had his best win since 2018, and since he now has a minor belt, decent fights are going to come to him. HIs corner is talking about how he is back and looking for big things.

I'm hopeful.

A couple of interesting loser's bracket fights.

 

Petar Milas outcome will be interesting. Context wise he's in need of a run wins against top 30 to 60 opponents who are also in the same boat, without those time huge gaps in between. Anyone have an technical assessment on him, I'm interested if so. Thanks. (I'll re-watch some YT clips, but there's people on here who can make a better assessment I'm sure)
