So many things are weird with this fight Torrez is under Top Rank fighting in a PBC card but just showed up at a Zuffa card Sanchez is seemingly avoided by everyone for reasons unknown Boxrec doesn't have it yet etc
If Lanier Pero and Luis Ortiz are both PBC why hasn't that match-up been made as a cash out of Ortiz and a name for Pero (assuming Pero can win)? I keep thinking Danier. PBC have no HWs under 30, is that correct? Benavidez is 29 but mainly aging past prime fighters. Actual question for those who know. Where is PBC going from here to 2030?
Ortiz against either Pero would make sense, it would help establish one of the Peros. It's time the Peros stepped up and took on to better opposition. Danier is of course 7 years younger, he might have a bright future but they need to get him into some meaningful fights.
PBC put on 10 cards in the last two years, I'm not sure how any promotion can get momentum being that inactive
Miller vs Lenier Pero is rumoured next. Not sure what Dainier is up to, but is with MVP so would make sense to pit him in with Gurgen Hovhannisyan as they are the two best heavies in that stable. I wouldn't mind Jared Anderson vs Ortiz - a good high stakes crossroad fight
I like the idea of Ortiz/Anderson ... I think the financial aspects of this probably make sense, for where they both are ATM. I had high hopes for Gurgen after watching most of his early fights, but he seems to have regressed. But he did come through adversity against a very tough Mailata. But has done next to nothing since. He goes and stands over next to all the other eastern fighters who do nothing for years on end, and they all play video games and watch Netflix or something.
We should be talking about retirement fights instead of crossroad fights when we talk about Luis Ortiz these days. Hes 47 this month!
Once again, Sanchez disappoints. The IBF should mandate Torrez against someone else - this has gone on too long. This content is protected
Well, can't say I'm too surprised. Disappointed still. Sanchez should pack it in if he can't sort his knee out.
