Yeah last time he looked elite was Stipe I. He had some alright performances against Lewis, Tuivasa and Ivanov after that, but none of those guys are elite.

Itauma's next opponent could be Hunter, then Hrgovic of he gets by Allen. This content is protected This content is protected
He's #1 for Wardley and Gassiev. Gassiev is begging him for the fight! I continue to think there is an element of fiction in this guy. They talk Usyk and Hrgovic, duck Sanchez, Wardley and Gassiev, and target Franklin and Hunter.
For me, I love this fight ! As long as it's soon ... as in the next 2 months. Twilight zone stuff ... I was actually thinking about Michael Hunter the millisecond I clicked ... about how he's been lingering, and lingering around this division, and it would be good to see him moved out, as he's not going to fade away without a push. Gassiev I like too. Either one ... anytime before mid-year at the latest works well to set up a top-shelf big $$ fight against a near-top name.
I mean if it was a fight that happened this early summer, then it would make sense as there is simply absolutely no point wasting 6 months for Michael Hunter like he did with Franklin. I'm not sure if Michael Hunter is a step up from Franklin really. If Itauma wanted to fight in the US to raise his profile there - is Michael Hunter the type of guy that can raise your profile in America? Andy Ruiz certainly would.
Yeh, as much as I'd like to see Michael Hunter as part of some Mike Tyson-like every few weeks Itauma rampage ... if it's going to be a 5 month build-up, Ruiz is a brilliant choice. Andy Ruiz seems to be doing nothing more than looking for one final cash-out - here it is.
Ruiz has gone into hiding for a while, but he has a bit of credit in the bank. Can punch, and is a big name. Jarrell Miller wouldn't be a bad choice in America if not Ruiz, as Miller is very durable and could possibly test Itauma's stamina a bit too. Its just like come on... why waste 6 months preparing for Michael Hunter when you're a prospect that needs fights and rounds to develop, on top of most likely knocking him out inside two.
Sanchez-Torrez will take place on the undercard of Usyk-Verhoeven. Heavyweight SLUGFEST here, definitely worth watching. Thompson vs Spilmont: This content is protected
