No one is obligated to fight this guy. In fact, I am sure he is going to grind out his career in obscurity.

I can respect that as a title defense, however why is Wilder looking to make fights in January when Povetkin will be done with his tune up in November.

 

Wilder won't dear to face him. It will be Wawrzyk for sure.

 

Because Povetkin will not be ready to fight in January if he fights in November.

He has fought three times since 2014. He fought one round in May and is now fighting again 6 months later.

I like the fact that the WBC heavyweight champion is willing to fight up to four times in a year's span in title fights. I think an active champ is a good thing.

If he works in a third voluntary defense against a Jennings or other top-shelf contender while Povetkin is resting up after Wach, I think that's a good thing.
