Posted 23 hours ago on twitter: Oscar "Kaboom" Rivas Official Fan Club arrives in California PRESS RELEASE February 24, 2016 - The heavyweight Oscar "Kaboom" Rivas (18-0, 13 KOs) landed Wednesday in California for his important fight against American Gerald "El Gallo Negro" Washington (16- 0-1, 11 KOs), scheduled for Saturday in Anaheim. Accompanied by the Vice President of GYM Alexandra Croft and assistant coach Luke Vincent Ouellet, Rivas was not invited to Wednesday's public workout, but he will be present at the press conference Thursday. Promoter Yvon Michel, the head coach Marc Ramsay and sidekick of "Kaboom" Eleider Alvarez Storm Official Fan Club, will all arrive in California on Thursday to stand. Alvarez is also very confident for his compatriot. "I want to encourage him. I am 100% certain he will win, he said. I have great confidence in him. I expect a big win. Washington is athletic, but Oscar is the best boxer of the two. It is faster and has more experience. " "He also has a great physical preparation and it has really developed over the years, he continued. Before, I crossed gloves with him. Now is really not the same! " Recall that the shock-Rivas Washington will be presented in Quebec on TVA Sports on Saturday night wave after issuing Dave Morissette.
See, that's why athletes shouldn't have their official page on social media be anything other than just their name (maybe including their nickname). That is a very misleading and confusing title, making it sound like Rivas' fan club had arrived in California (which has no place being a news item, that would be absurd).
Rivas failed additional eye checks in California. So he can't fight there no more, but Mitchel will get him fights in other U.S. states where he can fight, according to Mitchell.
Ryabinsky won Povetkin/Wilder purse bid with 7,15 million.Haymon was second with 5,1 million.10% from a purse to a winner,90% of purse will be split to 70/30 to a champion.4,5 million to Wilder and 1,93 million to Povetkin.Winner will get 715 k.Haymon and the World of Boxing was the only biders.15 days for contracts to be sorted out and 90 days for fight to happen.Wilders promoter DiBella will take fight with Povetkin, according to himself.End of the may in the Russia or US is the possible date for the fight.
Wilder would be nuts not to take the money. It's not 50/50 or even 30/70 but Wilder certainly has a chance of either scoring the KO or using his speed to evade Povetkin and get a UD based on landed jabs. I see him opting for the latter strategy with the option of getting a KO late in the fight when Sasha tires from chasing him. But if Haymon is offering an easier path (involving vacating the title and facing Martin/Joshua winner instead) with similar money, who knows.
http://boxrec.com/show/726058 Solid all heavyweight Aussie bill with some good regional talent. Stilling waiting for results to pop up on Boxrec, Twitter etc. Would be funny if old Graham beat Long more convincingly than Browne did
