I don't see how the Fury or Towers fights "matter."

Towers is fighting for the second time since 2013 and the only other was against an opponent type with a losing record. He's never beaten anyone significant and got run out of the ring the only time he's ever stepped up.

His opponent is like 8-0-1 and the draw was against a 1-1-1 guy. Not a "prospect," hardy a "suspect" at that. His best win is over someone with like a 10-7 record.

As for Hughie, Peter Fury announced that this was going to be a step-up fight against a top-10 contender. Instead, they find a journeyman who was lost a third of his fights and has never beaten anyone that anyone outside of their own family has ever heard of. And it would be interesting of Hughie were to stop him, as Hughie hasn't ever stopped anyone with any kind of a decent record (if we want to call 20-9 decent), but Nagy has been stopped a couple of times already so it wouldn't mark Fury as suddenly being a puncher.

I'm glad they're all fighting, but neither of those fights are what I'd call significant in any way. They're treading-water, stay-busy affairs.

Think you're overly critiquing my post here man.

I don't rate Allen as a top notch prospect or anything, but he is a sort of prospect... I think this is a nice little domestic level affair nothing more nothing less, it's at least semi-competitive on paper and not a stay busy squash match. It's certainly more interesting most of the others listed in the quoted post.

As for Fury/Aguilera.... It's still a decent step up despite Peter's exaggerations on the quality of the opponent. Call Peter out on his BS but it's not a bad fight for the young lad at this point.

I think you missed the purpose of this thread... It's to discuss heavyweight fights of all levels, ones that fly under the radar and aren't necessarily thread worthy.

    cmon

Nagy Aguilera is still solid juorneyman, and i mean solid- not just a livin punchingbag, but serious opponent who can still want to beat someone. Has ony 2 losses by KO's, with heavy hitters Peter and Arreola i other his recent fights he was doin well.

    :deal

He was very much in the fight against Washington, Breazeale and his upset win against Rekowski proves that he's a worthy test for just about any HW prospect.
