Junior Fa heads off overseas. Joseph Parker isn't the only Kiwi boxer making waves in sport's professional realm with another young fighter looking to make his mark after signing a major promotional deal overseas. The 27-year-old who once beat the WBO world heavyweight champion in amateur grade has turned down DUCO events to sign Lou Di Bella instead. American Di Bella is the former boss of HBO TV's boxing set up and boasts 70 fighters on his books, including WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. But Di Bella says he's excited at the addition of the 27-year-old, who will now be his only other heavyweight fighter besides Wilder. "Junior has tremendous tools, size, reach - he has power and he has amateur pedigree," he said. "He has to be developed properly and that's going to be the job for myself and his management to make sure that he is." The South Auckland fighter currently boasts a 9-0 record after one year as a pro fighter, claiming some of his most recent victories on Parker's undercards. But Fa said he needed to get away from Parker to shine. Fa is looking to make an immediate statement over in the US with his first bout possibly coming in less than four weeks on the undercard of a Wilder title fight.
Good news, it's a fine time to be a NZ boxing fan in the HW division. Now Parker, Fa, and Ugonoh (yes we have sort-of adopted him haven't we) have all signed with major promoters, Top Rank, Di Bella / Haymon.

Junior Fa will be on Wilder/Washington undercard, he signed with Lou Dibella recently, this deal is for the US market.
I see many are on that Briggs hype. That is funny to me because in his recent fights he has shown stamina for 2 rounds, I think everybody wants him to succeed due to his age, roll back years if you like.Unfortunately, he has just power going for him now and I am 100% sure that he would fail the drug test.
