Teper in good shape ahead of his fight against Lazaridis:https://www.bund-deutscher-berufsboxer.de/aktuelles/
In his case I think it is ok that he is given time to step up gradually. He was possibly a bit nervous in his very early fights and he has lots of time at 22 to refine his skills while training for actual fights. I wonder if he will to keep weight to stay at cruiser over the longer term. If not it'll be interesting to see what kind of style he develops to fight at HW at 6'2 southpaw. Might be best for him to take some fights outside of Oz/NZ so his first pro fight in the US/Europe isn't one against tough opposition later down the track.
Ahlen / Göppingen (uwe) - No, not yet. More patience. And another victory. Then it could be with the fight for a world title. "My management says, then I have a 70- to 80-percent chance for a world championship," Erkan Teper reveals. The problem on the way there - in addition to the usual uncertainty in the professional business - comes from Greece and is called Evgenios Lazaridis. "He is good. But after that comes something big ", thinks the Ahlen heavyweight as usual already ahead. That the 29-year-old opponent on Saturday in the Göppinger Stadthalle with a record of eleven K.o.-Siegen in a row, Teper does not make a headache. "Sure, it can happen, if I'm not careful, I can also land on the butt. But he has not yet boxed a world class, "says the 35-year-old, who started his career at BSK Ahlen, very well prepared and top-notch. With his coach Oktay Urkal, Teper has made his way to Lippstadt this time, even a sparring partner has been flown in. "I've done so much perseverance that Oktay has already ordered me to eat more," Teper already cooked to 105 kg. By Saturday, however, three to five kilos will be added to the ribs again up to the fightweight. It does not hurt to be better padded against the striking Greek number one. Afterwards not only a duel around the world title, but also a preparation trip of superlatives. Teper is booked for four weeks as the sparring partner of the Russian ex-world champion and Olympic champion Alexander Povetkin in Moscow, who has been a candidate for a fight with the British world champion Anthony Joshua after positive doping tests since his clear victory over Andriy Rudenko. "Perfect! After that I am topfit. It does not get any better, "Teper is looking forward to the fitness holiday and has long since his own World Cup chance in the back. "I will, I do not need more." Let's see what Lazaridis thinks about it ...
An unusual evening has been experienced by Erkan Teper. The Ahlener wanted to fight against the Greek Evangelos Lazaridis in heavyweight boxing in Göppingen. But the fight was canceled. The ring was too small, according to Teper in conversation with Radio WAF. According to our information was missing 50 cm. The next day will be the next Tuesday. Then the fight is to be carried out on a small scale in a training center in Leinfelden-Echterdingen. https://www.radiowaf.de/sport/sport...=26874&cHash=37afb420e88213fe350e46f905605ce1
Masternak is a top pro...a bum like Bujaj was never going to give him any real problems. Nobody has ever had an easy time with him. a case can be made for him winning every fight he's ever had barring Drozd. Muller was an outrageous robbery and Kalenga/Bellew were both razor thin.
You were right about that but he is no top pro, more like a stepping stone for prospects or a stay busy fight for champions. Johny Muller beat Masternak via SD and lost 3 fights after that, so Masternak isn't any top pro like you claim.
Best to actually watch fights instead of Boxrec'ing dude. That was one of the worst robberies ever. Masternak won CLEARLY. He's been competitive against every top opponent that's he's faced including Drozd before being stopped. Top Pro =/= Elite fighter. What I mean is he's a very solid fighter and the epitome of what a professional boxer should be(in my eyes) Fights anyone, anywhere and always gives it his all. That's what I mean by "Top pro"
You obviously haven't watched that fight if you're trying to use it against him. It was horrible hometown cooking.
