Okay. You are getting a longer version of my no! So in my opinion Hammer is just in the right time & right place. He was never super good and would never be a top fighter. He showed lack of stamina in his previous fights. Povetkin can always wait and drown him in to the deep waters in the late rounds. Decision for a Romanian guy in Russia seems almost impossible and the KO artist is not in the spirit of Hammer. Hammer needs a KO if he wants to win, but Povetkin is very durable. After all this is a good payday for Hammer.
"I think the Joshua fight can go ahead early next year when both teams are locked in and happy," Parker told ESPN. "When we can find a free date, a time in March, then we can definitely make it happen. "Negotiations are going good. I think we're close to locking something in. They're stuck at 30 per cent [of the purse], we're stuck at 35, so it's just finding the middle ground. "We'll take 35 percent which means Joshua will take 65, which is nearly double me, so I think that's a fair deal because he's the bigger draw card and he has two belts and I have one. I think that's reasonable and fair. "I think we're very close. I'm excited as it's a chance to showcase my skills in the UK more. "The [Wladimir] Klitschko-Joshua fight was a great fight. A legend and an up-and-coming fighter going at it. It was a great fight for all of us to see. "But there's just something special about a unification fight. We haven't had a unified champion for a while and there's something special about a unification. I have a good feeling about this."
Adam Balski (11-0, 8 KO) gets better after Demetrius Banks broke his jaw during the November gala in Częstochowa. The Pole won, but he still suffers the effects of this injury. - I can not bite, so I eat a straw or a teaspoon and that's why I've lost more than 6 kg - explains Balski. A fighter from Kalisz after fighting in Częstochowa was to fly to the USA for training with Gus Curren, but currently he does not know what his future will be like. - Some say it, others say that and I do not know what awaits me. If I need to go back to work, I will not have a problem with that, but I assure you that I will not give up my boxing - declared Balski, who until recently worked in a transport company (he carried bathroom fittings). http://www.ringpolska.pl/adam-balski/57187-balski-nie-wiem-co-mnie-czeka-ale-nie-zrezygnuje-z-boksu
According to Eddie Hearn, promoter for IBF, IBO, WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs), a deal is "very close" for a unification with WBO world champion Joseph Parker (24-0, 18 KOs). Hearn says they are ready to "overpay" to make the contest happen, with a likely date in the first quarter of 2018 in March. The two sides were at a stalemate last week, over a financial split of 65-35 in favor of Joshua. Initially it was at 50-50, then 60-40 and now at 65-35 with Parker's team refusing to go down any lower. "We're close," Hearn exclusively told Sky Sports. "We're at a stage now where we're having to compromise on certain points that we don't really want to, but ultimately we're going to have to because if you want to fight Anthony Joshua, these guys - they want to be overpaid. "He is the golden ticket fight, the 'Willy Wonka' golden ticket fight that everybody wants and unfortunately for him, it's going to mean sometimes taking a deal that isn't right. "My job is to represent Anthony Joshua and to deliver the deals that are right. We're not just going to roll over and let them tickle our belly and give everything away, but we ultimately understand that we're going to have to overpay Joseph Parker to get that unification fight. "Our original plan was to go to The O2 in March," Hearn said. "Against Parker, in a unification fight, that won't be the case. Millennium Stadium is an option. "We're looking with David Higgins and the team at all kinds of different venues. Some quite quirky and funky, other more realistic. But like I said, really by the end of 2017, we must be in a position that fight is done and we're ready to move forward." Source: box-scene
Former king of heavyweight, the boxer who deposed the great Vladimir Klitch after nearly a decade of rule, Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KO) officially can return to the ring. The Wilmslow giant made a deal with the British anti-doping agency UKAD, under which his more than two years of inactivity was counted as a period of disqualification for the alleged use of doping in February 2015 and can now apply for regaining a boxing license. In February 2015, an elevated level of nandrolone was found, however, the boxer never admitted to the use of doping, and random anti-doping tests carried out in the following months, also before the winning duel with Kliczka, gave a negative result. Tyson Fury, who has been paused since November 2015, will probably return between the lines in the first quarter of 2018, unless the licensed British boxing committee has any objections to his health.
The result of Tyson Fury's (24-0, 17 KO) fight with Christian Hammer (22-3, 12 KO) was canceled. The duel took place on February 28, 2015 and ended with the Englishman winning the technical knockout in the eighth round. Yesterday, however, Fury accepted the UKAD's imposition of a retrospective punishment for the positive results of the doping test conducted before the duel with Hammer. This means that the whole fight was annulled and was considered to be unaccounted for. Fury simultaneously regained his license with a boxer and can return to the ring next year. For the Englishman it will be the first ring show since November 2015, when he defeated Vladimir Klitschko. The result of the clash with Klitchko remaina unchanged, because in no further Fury's anti-doping study no banned substances were detected. Christian Hammer's team are considering taking legal action in connection with the UKAD decision. - We will look at the whole situation and make an appropriate assessment - said the promoter of the Romanian boxer Erol Ceylan.
