Change of an opponent for Demerizen. He will now face journeyman Rad Rashid for the vacant World Boxing Organisation European Heavyweight Title. Rashid has never lost by KO in his 3 lone losses but is 38 years old.
He needs better opponents. Sorry his fights to me look a little fishy. Maybe because he's in there vs a bottom shelf tomato can collecting a check. That isn't his fault.
Nor do I. Okay, he's got fast hands and some power, but Toth was on the slide ( Toth lost 7 of his last 9 via stoppage ), and Toth was Sirenko's first opponent with a winning record. Sirenko needs to move up in competition soon. I get that he's 23 and has plenty of time, but his reputation if he keeps fighting these type of opponents will not be a good one. Sirenko opponents seem to collapse or give up, not from being too hurt to stand, but from being, and I don't like to use the term, " Bums. "
Zhilei Zhang has been active but hasn't been able to land a big fight. The other Chinese heavies are frauds.
He's not getting any younger, he has to take on a contender soon. I often wonder what's wrong with some boxing promoters and managers, why are they are so reluctant to make good matchups?
Undefeated Laron Mitchell will face Eugene Hill on April 14th card. Eugene Hill has been out for more than 1,5 years and Laron Mitchell has been out for 8 months. Shape wise Laron Mitchell is in better shape. Mitchell is working as a teacher,so that doesn't give him much time to be in great shape. Mitchell struggled with Mario Heredia but Hill has been relentless in crushing mediocre opposition. Mitchell is the taller guy, he is 6,4 feet tall, so that gives him edge in outside fighting. This is tough to predict but I will go with Mitchell because of his height, power and better opposition.
Glowacky/Briedis might be next. Gevor, Masternak and Wlodarcyk also in the mix as possible opponents for Briedis.
Povetkin is at least 2 fights away from facing Joshua/Wilder winner. Wilder/Joshua could be next if this doesn't happen than Miller/Joshua will be next.
