I have a better idea: 1. Oquendo retires. 2. Charr retires. 3. WBA regular belt gets recycled into something actually useful like beer bottle caps.
The WBA should drop Oquendo from their rankings. It seems the old guy doesn't really want to fight anymore. Charr should defend against someone else, maybe as a co-feature on the next Joshua event.
"Ivan Dychko also plans a fight for April, as well as Daniyar Yeleusinov, but so far we can not determine the dates." There is the 27th day - there must be a boxing show, but it's not yet certain, or maybe the date the next fight of our heavyweight will be postponed until May - until I can say exactly, "the representative of the boxer said.
The belief by Whyte's promoter Eddie Hearn, is that the WBC will order him to fight to take part in a final eliminator. "Everything is up in air at the minute, because there's so much options and there's lots of things going on," Whyte told Sky Sports. "The options are Deontay Wilder, a rematch with Anthony Joshua, possibly fighting Kubrat Pulev for a final eliminator and then I become mandatory challenger for Joshua, or maybe a voluntary fight." "The WBC want me to probably fight a final eliminator against someone, which we don't know yet. We're trying to get them to enforce the mandatory and the WBA has come out a few days ago and said they want me to fight for their regular WBA world title." Whyte added Pulev's promoter Nisse Sauerland confirmed that his boxer has already accepted the IBF eliminator with Whyte. Povetkin is the WBA's mandatory challenger and Joshua has been ordered to face him - but Whyte doubts it happens. "Povetkin stands no chance of enforcing that fight at this minute, so I do think he should let me and him fight in a final eliminator. I went after him and called him out straight away after his devastating knockout of David Price. I spoke to his promoter and I spoke to him. He could understand me, I was making the hand gestures, and he said 'yes, yes, I'll fight you next,'" Whyte said. "He's a good fighter, a former Olympic gold medallist, a former world champion. He's only lost to Wladimir Klitschko, so that's a very, very attractive fight. A very, very good fight. That fight will get the public's juices flowing and get everyone going crazy. Pulev is also a good fight as well, but if I had a chance I would pick Povetkin. But if Pulev wants it, he can have it."
Joshua's team will make a VERY good offer to Wilder to fight him in the UK. This content is protected
Numbers of the first offer to Wilder revealed. According to unofficial reports, the offer directed towards Wilder allowed him to earn for a duel with Joshua at least 10 million dollars (more than three times more than the record-breaking American payment so far). However, the offer allegedly did not include participation in the profits from the sale of tickets and the Pay-Per-View system in the British Isles on which Wilder's camp does not agree.
