So, whole amateur boxing now works with full cooperation with VADA. Amateur boxing will be in next Summer Olympic Games if the judging for the amateur boxing is fair leading up to games.
Dillian Whyte - Kubrat Pulew on July 28 in London? Negotations are underway on the fight between Dillian Whyt (23-1, 17 KO) and Kubrat Pulew (25-1, 13 KO). The duel can take place on July 28 at a gala organized in London. Whyte and Pulew were assigned to the elimination fight for the title of world heavyweight IBF champion. On May 10, a tender will be held, which will select the organizer of this match, but boxers' promoters are sure that they will be able to reach an agreement earlier. Whyte in his last performance effectively knocked out in the sixth round of Lucas Browne. Pulew has not boxed since last April, when he won points with Kevin Johnson.
Amateur boxing's under-fire rulers handed over a crucial report on internal reforms to the IOC last month. "This report shows some progress and a good will but still lacks execution and substance in some areas," IOC president Thomas Bach said. "Our concerns on governance, financial and sporting integrity are continuing and we think that we now need to see actions," he added after a meeting of the IOC's executive committee in Lausanne. Therefore we retain our right to exclude boxing from Tokyo 2020." "We want to see the refereeing system and the appointment of judges. We want to see this approved by international and independent expertise," Bach explained. IOC gave AIBA an extension until July 11 to take further action and present additional information ahead of the next executive board meeting, scheduled for July 17-18. P.S. Doubt boxing will be in next Olympics. Expect influx of amateur boxers in pro ranks.
We can expect Frazer Clarke, Omarov, Guido Vianello and bunch of others amateurs turning pro if boxing is excluded from Summer Olympics, on July 11th.
Would almost be a blessing in disguise, especially for Clarke. The guy has no business staying in the amateurs, wasting his prime years. If the IOC really goes through with this he could turn over before the end of the year and could be in world title contention by 2021.
Former British and Commonwealth heavyweight king David Price will return to action at Bolton’s Macron Stadium on July 27. Price (22-5-KO18) was stopped in a thrilling fight against former world champion Alexander Povetkin (34-1-KO24) last time out but despite defeat, the Liverpudlian is more determined than ever to reward his growing fanbase with a major title. Price said: “I’m made up to be back. I’m grateful to MTK Global. They’ve delivered this fight for me and I’ve got my mojo back. I’m back in love with boxing. “I really enjoyed the fight and the occasion last time out. It was great to be part of such a big event. My next fight won’t be on that scale but it’s a step back towards the big time. “I said before I’d target the European title but I’m not solely focused on that. I just want another big fight and it could just as easily be for a world ranking title. “A lot of inspiration has come from the fans. It’s really giving me such a boost. When you receive the support I have – especially after a defeat – it’s heartwarming. “I’ve come in for some stick from the public over the last few years – some warranted, some not – but to see people throwing their support behind me now, I’m drawing on that.” An impressive undercard for the MTK Manchester event will be revealed in the coming weeks. I no longer care about him until he steps in the ring with Whyte or someone else around-about the same level. Not even going to wish him happy birthday until he does something.
Daniel Dubois will face Tom Little on the Saunders vs Murray undercard. The fight will be for the vacant BBCofC English heavyweight belt.
