If/when this fight happens I'll be only too happy to see Pulev win it in style and push for a Joshua/belt holder fight with that win behind him. The clock is really ticking on Pulev ... it's getting towards the now or never stage of things.
Mario Daser is a bum. The fight with Afolabi was fixed. I would say he is on the same level as Arnold Gjerjaj.
Whyte/Pulev is a competitive match up. But I favor Pulev, he had far more easy time against Chisora than Whyte had and Pulev is much better boxer than Whyte is. If Pulev don't engage in a slug fest he wins.
Just from that small clip there your man's not hard to hit plus he's not the most explosive guy in the world. Won't do well at Heavyweight.
If Pulev engages in slug fest than he will lose like this fight against Rivas in the amateurs: This content is protected
Actually, defense is his strong point, he moves head and covers up pretty well. Besides, he has power to stun people. This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
If boxing is excluded from Olympic Games that will influx much needed talent to professionals. Amateurs won't be left in tatters either.
If we look closely at the pro scene than Italy doesn't have one good heavyweight but if Vianello turns pro that will change rapidly. They have Modugno but he needs to be more active. Also if Omarov and Babanin turns pro that will boost Russia's heavyweight credentials considerably. Also, Turkey, England, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan and others will benefit from amateur heavyweights turning pro. And this would be beneficial in financial aspect also.
Italy had Roberto Cammarelle he was a talent, the #1 amateur super heavyweight in the world for a while. Fast, skilled, and a big puncher. Too bad he never went pro. As for Vianello, he's got a good WSB record. Will have to check him out. https://www.worldseriesboxing.com/boxers/vianelo-guido/
7 fights going the distance in a 13 fight career at cruiser doesn't suggest he'll have power to stun at heavyweight. I'll have a look at those clips after work mate thanks.
Change in opposition for Jalolov: he will now take on 4-0-1 Hugo Trujillo from Mexico, who should be an easier task than Jonathan Rice. Jalolov weighed in at 244 lbs., Trujillo is 256 lbs.
