This is Arreola we're talking about. He'll fight 2 mroe times this yr, vs fringe top 100s and be called on for a big fight. I wished Wlad woulda got him into the Garden before Vitali vacated. That woulda been a nice legacy fight for Wladimir. Now.......Arreola will can crush until he's GIVEN a big fight.atsch
Oh, and since when is Briggs staying busy???? He had 6 fights financing his charade across the globe after Wlad, in less than 8 months. Since Wlad has made the Sept date, allowed K2 to publish an article saying Wlad would like to punish Briggs for his insubordination, he hasn't had a fight or even rumored a fight for going on 5 months. atschatschatsch
Nothing to be ashamed of for Chris. He is coming back after a bad KO loss and an elbow injury. Harper got 5 wins in a row, including Joshua Tufte who was 15-0 plus he stopped Dustin the Worm Nichols faster than Wilder did, and was not floored while Wilder was Anyway, should be easy work for Arreola. If not, he should retire. But it's better to face this guy than 0-30 opponents like Chambers is facing since 2013.
Trey Lippe Morrison sparring Ty Cobb https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9WBYCfw3LU At least he doesn't seem adverse to working in the gym
Gotta work on that defense. Ty Cobb is no world level journeyman, and he was tagging Trey fairly easily. Maybe he's testing his punch resistance.:-( I like the kid. Good story. Wish him nothing but the best.:good
I suppose that Harper has earned a payday with his recent win streak, and incredible upset win over Tufte. Hopefully he can give a good account of himself and not fold over like he did in his debut.(Albeit to a Cuban whiz) A lot of times these up-n-coming journeymen will fold rather than fight, especially when they realize they're in over their head. If Harper can go in there confident, looking to win like Molina did, maybe he can put Chris on the backfoot and finish him like Aguilera did to Maskaev. That would catapult Harper into the top 40 and get him into some huge fights. :think
Kid is still really green... We won't know how good he is until 3-5 years from now, he's pretty much learning on the job. Didn't have an amateur background like his father, he's what a year into boxing now? I hope he can go onto to achieve something, and not fail miserably like the sons of other heavyweight legends who followed suit. He has some natural talent, great athlete like his father... But that will only carry you so far, he has to learn the trade, and work extremely hard in the gym to make up for his lack of an amateur background.
Sometimes he was getting him, sometimes he wasn't but hey, he's working at his craft. He may be inexperienced but at least he's committed which is more than can be said for certain other heavyweights. I think they were focusing on keeping defense integrated with offense but I did like the way Lippe can put together a three punch combination. He doesn't look like a sure thing but who knows.
Very much spot on. It is encouraging to see a young US heavyweight who still has a work ethic. Hopefully the kid can take a punch and brings his skills up with experience but he doesn't look too bad considering he doesn't have years and years of amateur experience to build upon. I think Lippe has more talent than Vladimir Goncherov but that may not be saying a hell of a lot.
