Harris once again threw the fight, like he did in his last outings vs Ustinov and Pulev. Sad and pathetic performance by a fighter who once defeated David Izon, Jeremy Williams and Sergei Lyakhovich (granted in was like 15-20 years ago)
Usually, I don't mention the world jr champions as under age 18 at super heavyweight. You just can't expect a 19 or 20-year-old to do well vs super heavyweight men now primary 6'4" or taller, or can you? Enter Aussie Justis Huni ( now age 19 ), winner of the word youth amateur boxing champions in November 2016, held in Russia. Huni who is Tonga and Samona, isn't built like many past top boxers from that part of the world. He is tall and quick, a good boxer-puncher type. More of an angular type of build. Why does he have my attention? Huni is 16-0 International fights. We'll see if he can make a splash in the world amateur super heavyweight championships in 2019, held in Sochi, Russia. Winning two matches would prove he's one to watch. He looks decent in the bag work and many of the best super heavyweight amateurs truing professional.
Heavyweight Andrey Fedosov (30-3, 25 KOs) returned to the ring with a 1st round stoppage over Francisco Mireles. The 32 year-old Fedosov was making his 1st start under his new management team, Journeyman Management. With his new managers, Journeyman Management headed by longtime boxing man, Andrew Zak, along with promoters Banner Promotions and Hitz Boxing, Fedosov will look to position himself in the suddenly hot heavyweight division. "It took some time, but now he is with his new family," said Andrew Zak of Journeyman Management. "Not only does he have a new management team, but now a new trainer in Buddy McGirt. We see him becoming a complete fighter. He is learning a lot from Buddy. And now that he is with our team, he is adding a lot to his game, and we see him being a world champion."
Andy Ruiz beat Kevin Jonshon by dissapointing points decision of 93-97 | 93-97 and 91-99 and Kevin Josnhon isn't even a puncher but at least Ruiz weighed 8 pounds less than for last fight. Well, I hope Andy Ruiz Jr doesn't face any huge punchers any time soon because he will get in big trouble. Ques what? Ruiz Jr do badly against punchers with good workrate. Early part of Tor Hamer fight is good proof of that. And nevermind his fight amateur fight against Michael Hunter Jr where he was in very good condition but still lost by 4th or 5th round KO and suffered at least 4 knockdowns before that. All of this raises question about his durability and defense. He can beat Jenings because he isn't huge puncher and Bob Arum has talked about it as a possibility but it's not given that Jennings will beat Dimitrenko. I think Ruiz would struggle with Miller as well and Ortiz would give huge problems as well. And he better stay away from new generation heavyweight prospects with huge punch and workrate.
Ex world heavyweight champion, 53-year-old American, Oliver McCall did not appear against the 28-year-old Jamal Woods (17-42-7, 11 KOs). At the weigh-in, McCall showed on the scales 240 pounds (109 kg), and Jamal Woods was slightly heavier - 245 pounds (111 kg).
