I have the exact opposite outcome in my mind. I think Zubov wins on points. I think he is more skilled and has better natural abilities. I also think he has a better / higher work rate than Mann as Mann seems to bit a bit lazy. He had very close fights with Leon Harth (decent opponent tbh) and Isossa Mondo. I think the Mondo fight was even closer than scorecards suggest. A draw might be okay but i have to rewatch it. This content is protected
November heavyweight fights I’m interested in Nov 3 Cassius Chaney 13-0 -7 KO’s vs Santion Turnbow 4-2. Comments: Chaney is very big, but has mediocre power. A win here could set him up vs an undefeated USA prospect, maybe Trey Morrison. Nov 17. Tom Schwarz 22-0 vs TBA. Comments: At 22-0, you need better than vs TBA Erik Pfeifer 1-1 vs Gvenetadze 10-11. Comments : Pfeifer was a good, but not great amateur. He won’t go that far, but he will be moved quickly due to his age. Nov 24 Arslanbek Makhmudov 4-0, 4 KO’s vs TBA. Comments: One of the 4 best heavyweight prospects in the world he’ll get a knockout. Sergey Kuzmin 13-0 vs TBA. Comments: Kuzmin can reach top ten status. Evgeny Tishchchenko 2-0 vs Christian Mariscal 11-1. Comments: the fleet footed Russian is being moved quickly! Fri Nov 30 Ivan Dychko 7-0 7 KO’s. vs TBA. Comments, Dychko needs a step up in competition, no going backwards from this point.
NZ prospect Patrick Mailata won his pro debut via 1st round TKO. Cruiserweight David Light also won his bout via 3rd round TKO to move to 10-0.
Hey guys what are thoughts about Guido Vianello? He is gonna make his pro debut on the Lomachenko vs Pedraza card.
Cassius Chaney defeated Santino Turnbow via 4th round KO to move to 14-0. He get knocked down however in round 2 and would have been outta there had he faced someone better. With his poor chin I can see why he's perating at such a low level.
He’s very very fast, but his style is not well suited at all to the pros. Gives up way too much ground and has no power.
I mostly agree. A solid " B " level pro prospect, Vianello can have regional success. But he has to increase his power and fight a bit tougher, which are two hard things to change. He is big enough, so the power might improve a bit. The best news is guys are turing pro these days, so we can see.
The world amateur championships, which is actually a much deeper draw than the Olympics is set for 2019 in Russia. I think it will be wide open, as many of the best amateur prospects have turned professional. Alexey Dronov, a Russian who won the world amateur jr championships at 91+KG in 2016 is a guy I want to see. No jr amateur champion is really ready for the men's super heavyweights in a tough tournament, however one or two wins for a 18-19 year old ( he was born 2001 ) will show me something. Dronov is an aggressive puncher type with good accuracy. Good movement skills for his build. He needs to covert some fat to muscle, but he's still in the growth phase. Artur Szpilka looks in great shape for the Wach bout on Saturday. This content is protected He sparred Ustinov and Helenius This content is protected
Like I said before, its the perfect fight for Trey Lippe Morrison. He has to step up sometime. Why not vs an undefeated American type? The general public has no idea Chaney has a shaky chin, all they will see is he is 14-0, and big.
Both are probably gonna try and take an easy route into a World ranking so I doubt that fight happens as much as it would be a good fight.
Actually Ivan Veryasov seems like the likely man to participate world amateur championships for Russia as he won their national championships in 2018 with ease. Young Alexey Dronov will have to win this tournament first in 2019. I can't recall seeing Veryasov, but looking at his record, I'd bet he's a speedy type with mediocre power.
