Maybe im in the minority here, but im really not impressed with the cruisers. I'm sure part of the reason has to do the very limited exposure received in this division. But watching Mormeck-Bell while very exciting early, left you wondering if these were really the creme de la creme of the division. Both have terrible stamina and were extremely sloppy, really don't excel at anything. Mormeck and Haye look more like bodybuilders than boxers. Banks is working with Steward but he and Hayes are moving to hw. Wilson is very exciting and fun to watch w/a rock solid beard but the technique really isn't there. It also seems like a temporary home til fighters are prepared for the hw division.

I'm more impressed with the depth of the current hw division: Wlad, Vit, Peter, Oleg, Ruslan, Iggy, Povetkin, Brewster, Brock, etc.. There are more interesting story lines like with Evander Holyfield's doomed quest and Wald's :yep potential to become a dominant champ. Not to mention the emergence of the former Soviet Union as the dominant force in the division.

I disagree completely. The division has come into its own in the past few years, especially since Toney/Jirov, and is no longer just a weigh station for fat lt. heavies or wanna-be heavyweights.

There is some serious talent there, the top guys fight each other, and, to me it's almost more interesting than the heavies because being smaller, Cruisers can throw a lot more punches and sustain action, but still have heavyweight type power (Ding).

Cruiser is one of the top 3 divisions right now.

Agreed. The only thing stopping it before were the fights not being made, like when Bell was basically sitting on his belt. Now that the matchups are getting made, the division's really showing it's strength.

    Yeah, common lets bounce!! :smoke
Seriously, what do you mean with bouncer??
I like Cruiserweight but it seems the best of them move up to heavyweight and the not so good stay at cruiserweight. Mormeck and Bell are good fighters but they lack stamina, especially Mormeck, no suprise when you look how hes build and hes slow too. Haye doesnt look like a bodybuilder and really seems to be elite, this guy would be a verry good heavyweight! The cruiserweights is ok but there are better weightclasses around IMO.

The cruiserweight division is much better than the heavyweight division right now. Compare Mormeck's last two fights with Wlad's; Wlad may be more talented, but I'd far rather watch Mormeck.

I had to say, with all respect to Chagaev, Ibragimov, Byrd and all the PTS warriors in the heavyweight division, the KOs in the cruiserweight division are superior. EVERY year the great knockouts that the cruiserweight division puts out are overlooked for KOTY.

anyone can knock out anyone in the cruiserweight division. The Heavys might have more strength, but you need speed for the real KO power.

are you watching the same division as me? :?

    Tokarev,Kraj,Alexeev,Brudov,Firat Arslan,Yoan Hernandez,.....................

You are right! Cruiser is a very hot division all of suddden again.

My guess is that Alexeev will be the undisputed king of that weight division within two years.

Heavyweight should start from 190 pounds until 260. A Super Heavyweight division should be created for the slow giants and the fat ****s.
