I've always thought crusierweight would be better off split into two divisions:

    Cruiserweight: 175lbs - 187lbs
    Super-cruiser: 187lbs - 200lbs

What are people's opinions? Would you support this if it was implemented? Would you care at all?

No, I wouldn't support it at all. Too many weightclasses already.
Better to close the gap from Light Heavyweight on, Let's say LHW @184, SMW 172 and MW 164

@Robney is right. There are too many divisions already! Cruisers are super exciting to watch right now!

I would make a 190 division and a 210 as well so that the smaller HWs can drop down to CW.

Are these weight classes decided by scientific evidence of power and resistance by lbs? Or just some random dudes in the past deciding it was a good idea?

This makes a lot of sense. I'd also bump CW up to 205 since very few 205 pounders bother (or are capable of) making a sustained run at HW. Though the official start of heavyweight is 201, in practice we don't see career HW's campaigning under 210. Those guys already drain to CW.

I can't remember the last 205 pound (or smaller) HW to get a title shot. Even Byrd and Chambers were heavier. Huck was 209 1/2 for his one-off vs Povetkin. Wlad's fought 69 times over 20+ years, and never fought a HW that weighed 205 or less. Lennox fought 2 guys in the first year of his career (1989) that fit that profile, and no more.

The 200 pound cutoff for CW seems pretty outdated IMO.

175 to 200 is a massive jump. It seems strange seeing someone like Lawrence Okolie and even Oleksandr Usyk at Cruiserweight.

I'd prefer if they did it as Robney said and just adjusted the current weight classes.

i said years ago there needed to be a heavyweight and super heavy...there is no way a decent 220lb 6 foot heavywewight can compete with todays giants....so i am all for another weight class at the heavy end of the scale

    not sure exactly where though?

No more weight divisions. A 220 pound heavyweight has the option of cutting weight to make 200 Cruiserweight. Sure, add in another division if you want to kill the sport.

If another weight division is added it's gunna kill the quality of fights because of the amount of different titles and weight categories there are and people will be more likely to fight lower class people rather than tough opponents.
