I recall noticing that Chak felt the weight of and looked a tad concerned at one point when LHW Jackson Junior caught him a big shot.
Scores were 77-74, 76-75, 77-73. Apparently Chak hit and dropped Ventura after the bell and should have been deducted a point. And at the end of 8th Chak was down for the 2nd time but ref didn't open the count. So yeah he lost this fight :!:
You've got be REALLY off to struggle with a Brazilian. :-( ...and the Dorticos result just makes this extra cringe-worthy. Afolabi to get the eliminator spot if he beats Chakhkiev? :think
Based on the little I know of Gassiev, he seems like someone Afolabi could get past...meaning he would get a crack at redemption in a rematch with Ramirez.
No apparently IBF is not cool with Chak fighting Ventura after they offered him the eliminator so he's out. Now Gassiev will fight whoever is next in line for the shot at the title (Nielsen, Huck, Kudryashov). And to add another insult, Chak has suffered at least 1 cut last night so the Afolabi fight might be off...
How do you guys like Michael Hunter's chances at CW? I think that's where he should be fighting instead of HW.
Just saw the fight, saw only one KD tbh, must have missed the other. The first one was fairly light, pretty much a flash knockdown and I feel he won the fight but it was not easy. I think Chakhkiev needs to learn the very strange (to him) concept of: setting up your punches.... He throws abso****inglutely everything hard. Look at Golovkin, tap tap tap BAM.. With Chakhkiev it's only BAM time after time, it gets predictable.
