Excellent fight last night! This is boxing.. you know when guys actually show up to fight and actually throw meaningful punches. Hats off to these two warriors.

Decent fight. Hopefully this will make some of the idiotic nay sayers back off from Leo a bit and Mares too had a good showing. Good night all round.

Lots of honest effort, fitness, toughness, workrate etc from both guys - but to be honest it wasnt top class boxing, was it???

Both were shown up to be limited and 1-dimensional at the highest level. Also these guys are not featherweights and woulsdget hammered versus the top guys at 126.
I think Carl Frampton, Scott Quigg, Rigo etc at 122 would also fancy their chances against these two.

10/10 for effort lads but they were generating more heat than light in there.

In a way it was like Crawford vs Gamboa or Walters vs Marriaga. Even though there was no significant difference in skill, the bigger and longer guy emerged victorious. Mares needed the KO to win and he went for it in the early rounds but he failed and he got outpointed throughout the fight after the 3rd round. He's still a great boxer though. He fought to the last second without ever coming close to being knocked down which deserves praise.

Nice assessment, to add Santa is moving up a division which means he can develop more power in the trasision

Not talking about bulk from weights, but gain from muscles that actually invovle punch power

Some of you are hating on these great warriors skill? Come on? Do you know what it takes to trade like that for 12 rounds? These guys are highly skilled and threw heat all night. Good for them, for us, and for boxing.

Much better than some of the glorified sparring matches the so-called "skilled" fighters are producing.

Good fight. Not sure why some dont think brawling or pressuring is a skill set just like a boxer

Agreed. A fun, certainly earnest effort there by both men, and congrats to them both for that, but neither was particularly well-schooled. Quite sloppy.
