"Things didn't go my way because Main Events didn't promote the show. I beat him." thoughts? interview on boxingtalk.com
So if Main Events promoted the show, the judges would have gladly robbed Chambers? Brock didn't show up in very good shape, he didn't throw enough punches, and he flat out didn't want it badly. He lost, he should get over it and work harder or reassess his career. Boxers have a habit of blaming everything under the sun, except themselves, for their losses. That's why it's always nice when you get a classy guy who is willing to accept defeat. Brock's not one of them...
exactly. Calvin lost me as a fan. But not everyone can take defeat like Shane Mosely...used to hate Shane, but he gained sooo much respect from me. He didn't say "If Top Rank didn't co-promote the fight i would have won!".
Brock def. could've won but he didn't do anything in the second 2/3's of the fight. I thought he had a couple of opportunities where he had Chambers but he didn't execute. The last round with him dancing around the ring was lame........................in a close fight you should never try to caost along like that. Especially against a soft puncher like Eddie. :-(
Same here... I used to be a fan of Calvin Brock until his excuses and when I heard how he acts outside of the ring. Shane definitely earned a great deal of my respect as well after the Cotto fight. I think Brock's days as a contender are done. He's likely going to be a solid gatekeeper who prospects will face to see if they are ready for the next level. Maybe like Dominick Guinn...
Brock lost the fight because he was 20 pounds over weight, thats why he lost. Chambers didn't do anything special, but did enough to win IMO. Brock should just shut up and get in shape, and try to regain what got him a match with Wlad.
Brock's dad telling him to dance the last two rounds away, cause he was ahead, was a quite a shock to hear. I wouldn't have thought ANYone would have thought Brock was far enough ahead to throw the last two rounds away. I thought the fight was real close, with Chambers ahead. How Brock's dad thought Calvin was not only ahead, but FAR ahead, is crazy. But Brock needs to do something spectacular in his next fight, if he wants to regain a bit of draw in the division. As he is, now I don't think he could attract flies. He needs to fight someone credible, and completely dominate them. Anohter loss, or another snoozer win will probably take Brock/s drawing power down to the Shannon Miller level.
With his face all busted up and down on the cards, pulling an "Oscar vs. Trinidad" was a bad move, his father is an idiot. Why'd he ditch Pernell? More than losing the fight and status as a potential contender in the division, he lost my respect by not taking ANY responsibility for the loss. He was in worse shape than when he was fighting cans on ESPN 3 years ago.
him who? chambers? wlad? :rofl:rofl:rofl both losses were about equally decisive, if by completely different routes. :good
got the klitschko knockout on repeat, it's the only thing making me feel better after reading the interview
Exactly,Brock should have been much more agressive esp. against a weak puncher. Its completely his own fault:|
