Another P4P desperado bites the dust Meanwhile the two best fighters on the planet Usyk & Fury don't care! Nor do them little Japanese warriors. P4P is for suckers like Canelo, AJ & Crawford
So he thinks he’s pound for pound for beating Kambosos? Ask him if he had Kambosos in the top ten pound for pound list after the Teo fight. Haney needs to prove himself, I think he’s as temporary as Teo or Kambosos.
Does a win over Brian Castano get you in? Apparently, so. Does getting embarrassed by Jack Catterall allow you to stay? I think P4P is dumb, but, hell, I'd take Haney over Josh Taylor in that top 10 and in an actual fight in a heartbeat. Ring isn't exactly operating on all cylinders right now. They stripped Fury last week of the Ring Heavyweight Title while he was still holding the WBC belt, was trying to make a Chisora title defense and while Fury was in camp posting videos of how he'd beat Usyk. At this point, Ring is just another alphabet org ... except they have started stripping boxers more often than the orgs do.
I agree that they were the most questionable inclusions, but absolutely those wins are better than anything Haney has done, and absolutely Josh Taylor would shatter Haneys glass jaw into a million pieces. I don’t know what you think you see in Haney but he’s not built for the top.
It was not only the win, but how he won it. He showed new facets of his game in the rematch against Brian. He made big improvements, not only showing how big of a puncher he is, but he also showed his boxing skill. And the fact that he stopped Tony Harrison. Those are great wins.
So maybe you’re missing the point.. Jermell Charlo and Josh Taylor practically cleaned their divisions out. Devin Haney won the belts off of Kambosos who won it off Teo who won it off Loma. Basically their saying 1 win doesn’t merit him to be on the list which is understood. Carlos Baldomir wasn’t put on P4P list after beating Zab Judah for the undisputed WW title..
