Then you should watch those 2 fights, particullarly the second one and tell me who really won it.

Most people and boxing experts as well as me didn't agree with those 3 judges who scored 115 - 113 for Mosley in the second fight.

Round 1 De La Hoya 10-9, very close

De La Hoya landed the cleaner heavier shots, Pernell better with the jabs, near even round.

Round 2 De La Hoya 10-9

Fairly clear Oscar round, he landed several rights and one twos, bot defending well.

Round 3 De La Hoya 10-8

Another solid round for Oscar, he rocked Pernell several times with hard uppercuts and left hooks from the outside and inside. Point deducted for headbutt/

Round 4 De La Hoya 10-9

Oscar too active, on point with his right and a few one twos, Pernell too inactive, and missing with his jabs a lot as well.

    Round 5 Whitaker 10-9

Nthng round from e La Hoya, Pernell giving him a ton of lateral movement and jabbed from start to finish, still low output from him as well.

Round 6 De La Hoya 10-9, close

Back and forth, but Oscar did the more effective work out of the southpaw stance, cracking him with a few hard lefts.

    Round 7 Whitaker 10-9

Another low output round from Oscar, Pernell made him miss throughout, and he body slammed Oscar in the process.

Round 8 De La Hoya 10-9

Easy Oscar round, he landed several thudding left hooks, Pernell's jabs were falling short.

    Round 9 Whitaker 10-8

Oscar was more active and outworked him, but he stupidly went to southpaw and went down on a slip when he was off balance, but since a punch landed, Lane ruled it a KD.

Round 10 De La Hoya 10-9, close

Back and forth round, Oscar counter punching for a change, and ends round with a good solid flurry. Pernell not active enough or accurate enough to nick it.

    Round 11 Whitaker 10-9

Oscar looking tired and sloppy, eating hard jab after hard jab, Sweet Pea nailed him with several hard straight lefts.

Round 12 De La Hoya 10-9

Whitaker clowned the majority of the round, Oscar didn't do much himself, but the handful of combos he landed edged was more than enough to do it.

    115-111 De La Hoya

I haven't seen this match in a long long time, like over 20 years. I didn't enjoy it when I saw it live, but I thought Oscar should have won it then, but I wasn't some well schooled boxing geek at the time. But all these years later, my opinion hasn't changed. Pernell was just too damn inactive and inaccurate, many of his jabs missed the mark and Oscar was more active and his power punches when they found their marks, made more of a lasting impact on the rounds he landed them in. Sure Whitaker jabbed well throughout, but that's not enough to win most rounds, that Oscar was jabbing fairly well in himself, decisively enough for everyone to whine about it like they did.

Many people said that Whitaker won the fight but I didn't think so. Whitaker irritated 3 judges and boxing fans by taunting and showboating De La Hoya many times in the fight. For instance, he pretended to get hurt badly by walking stumbling to taunt his opponent after the bell rang. His act didn't make people laughed, and I thought that this was why he lost the fight. But it was a close fight anyway. I scored it 115-113 for De La Hoya.

I had it 116-112 for Floyd “Money” Mayweather and that is being generous to Oscar.

I had it for Quartey 115-113 but don’t quibble with the victory for Oscar as Ike really should have knocked him out.
