Arthur Abraham vs Tim Robin Lihaug (July 16. 2016) (12 Rounds for vacant the WBO International Super-Middleweight Title)

    Round 1: 10-9 Abraham
    Round 2: 10-9 Abraham
    Round 3: 10-9 Abraham
    Round 4: 10-9 Abraham
    Round 5: 10-9 Abraham
    Round 6: 10-9 Abraham
    Round 7: 10-9 Abraham
    Round 8: TKO

    My Score: 70-63 Abraham

    Official Scores: (N/A)
Winner: By 8th round Technical Knockout to win the vacant WBO International Super-Middleweight Championship, "King" Arthur Abraham.

A usual Abraham performance. There was a time where a guy like Lihaug wouldn't have made it out of the 5th, though Abraham despite his lack of punch technique was incredibly accurate with just about every bomb.

Shawn Porter vs. Andre Berto @ 12 rounds welterweight.

    This content is protected

    Round 1 - Berto 10-9 Close
Round 2 - Porter 10-8 (Berto down at the end of the round)
    Round 3 - Porter 10-9
    Round 4 - Porter 10-9
    Round 5 - Porter 10-9
    Round 6 - 10-10 Even
    Round 7 - Berto 10-9
Round 8 - Porter 10-9 (Very strong and vicious round by Porter)
Round 9 - Porter continuing his onslaught from the 8th, drops Berto against the ropes. Berto manages to get up from the KD, but Showtime begins his attack again and after a short period of time, he drops Berto again, forcing the referee to wave the contest off.
    Porter TKO9 Berto.

This was actually a good performance by Porter. In the early rounds he used his legs well to take advantage of Berto's slower foot speed and to avoid Berto's quicker hands at mid-range. and then Porter started to do what he does best, smothering in the inside. I didn't agree with Paulie, Al and Mauro saying that Porter shouldn't smother Berto on the inside, Porter had to do it because that way he was able to neutralise Berto's sunday punch - the uppercut.

Man the Barclays always has an awesome atmosphere and it should be the same come Garcia vs Porter. :chuck:

    Round 1: 10-9 Williams
    Round 2: 10-9 Williams
    Round 3: 10-9 Corcoran
    Round 4: 10-9 Williams
    Round 5: 10-9 Williams
    Round 6: 10-9 Willaims
    Round 7: 10-9 Corcoran
Round 8: 9-9 (point deduction from Corcoran, but I thought he won the round Williams made it close at the end)
    Round 9: 10-9 Corcoran
    Round 10: 10-9 Williams
    Round 11: TKO

    My Score: 96-93 (ATOS)

That if was all over Corcoran for every move he made from start to finish, but didn't say boo to Williams about the constant illegal use of the head. I hate favortism like that. I'm glad Beefy whipped Williams ass twice back to back.

    Mayorga vs Spinks 147 Undisputed

-Prefight a very young Devon Alexander is standing in the corner during the introductions
-Michael Spinks and Mike Tyson are sitting very close to each other

    Mayorga: 1, 3, 7, 8, 12
    Spinks: 2, 4, 6, 9, 10
    Even: 5 and 11

    113-113 or 5-5-2

two 9-9 rounds where Mayorga lost points but won the round.

Real judges had it 114-114 which I scratched my head and said how? i dont know how you would mathematically get that score

114-112 I guess he scored one of the deduction rounds 9-9 and one 10-8

And an Adalaide Byrd and CJ Ross level 117-110 score to seal Spinks a MD victory

Obviously a controversial fight and very close, I dont know why they never rematched, Mayorga seemed pretty popular

    Sanchez vs Laporte WBC 126

    Sanchez: 1,2,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,
    Laporte: 3, 4,5,15

    Sanchez 146-139
    Judges
    1 147-140
    2 146-139
    3 148-142

-Very impressed with Laportes toughness and tenacity. He never quit, he continued to fire hard right hands the entire fight. He was determined until the end even in round 15 after really getting dominated for 8 or so straight rounds

-Laporte had this interesting and very exaggerated right hand. Sometimes you see guys really dip their right shoulder to really torque a left hook he was turning his left shoulder all the way to the side to twist into his right and he landed some bombs

-Laporte as previously noted carried his power late in the fight but Sanchez just overwhelmed him

Franklin (Muhammad) vs Lopez NABF 175

Muhammad: 1,2,3,7,9,10 with a TKO victory in 11 at the end of the round
    Lopez: 4,5,6,8

Lopez recovered well and fought extremely well when hurt
A lot of refs probably stop the fight in the 8th with all the unanswered shots but Muhammad eventually recovered in the round and took charge briefly

    Alexander vs Berto 147lb bout

    Alexander: 1,2,3,4,6,9
    Berto: 5,7,8,10,11,12

6 rounds to 6 but round 3 was 10-8 for a knockdown making this 114-113 for Alexander on my card

    1 114-113 Alexander
    2 115-112 Berto
    3 115-112 Berto

There were two hard rabbit punches after the knockdown

The ref was terrible only warned Berto for any foul all night. Threatened to take a point for holding, holding continued but he never said anything to Devon. He also called several phantom low blows for body punches. This happened about 3 times. He also gave Berto several final warnings for low blows but never took points.

Overall this was a pretty ugly and disappointing fight. Lots of toe to toe but a lot of holding, the ref never let them work out on their own just kept breaking it even when they were free to punch.

Round 12 was the only round worth watching minus the knockdown. Not all that impressed with either guy. Hate saying it because I scored it for Alexander but he deserved to lose the way he blew the second half of the fight one of the weakest finishes i have ever seen, Cunningham in his corner was going nuts. Berto is still done at the top level

    Spinks vs Karmazin IBF 154

    Spinks: 1,3,4,5, 8
    Karmazin 2,6,7,9,10,11,12

    115-113 Karmazin

    1 114-114
    2 115-113 Spinks
    3 115-113 Spinks

    Al Bernstein had it even

Reminded me a lot of Pavlik vs Martinez at certain stretches

After 4 The press guys had my score

Round 4 Spinks boxed very well but never seemed to hurt Karmazin, really didnt do much the whole fight minus some redness around his eyes

Spinks comes out very aggressive in 5 doubling his left down the middle and taking command

    Press after 6 same score

Karmazin was wrongly stepping inside the lead foot of the southpaw all fight but had lots of success with the right to the body left to the head like Ward did vs Dawson and also the left hook to the body and the right to the head

After 8 press 1 same 2 had it even

After 9 rounds Karmazin's team thought referee Nelson was too quick to break them

After 10 2 press scores agree 1 has Karmazin ahead

Round 11 Spinks lost the round but showed a lot of heart and put up a tough fight after the momentum had shifted and his corner begged him to turn it up

Round 12 Cory runs for his life completely hands it over. Oddly Cory raises his hands at the bell Roman does not

115-112 or 8-4 by two judges does not sit well with me to be honest, I hate tossing the word robbery out but this was bad

Also This is the second time Cory won a title in controversy and again, no rematch

    Trinidad vs Campas IBF 147

    Trinidad: 1
    Campas: 2
    Even: 3
    4 TKO Trinidad

Campas dropped Trinidad with one of the shortest left hooks I have ever seen and he also nailed him with an inside uppercut. Trinidad docked for a low blow but won the round outright

Campas looked tight to start but I was impressed when he let his hands go. Relied on his chin too much, just because he could take a big punch doesnt mean he should and it reminded me of tommy boy when he kept letting david spade hit him until he laid him out with a 2 by 4.

    Trinidad vs Joppy 160 WBA

    Trinidad: 1,2,4
    Joppy 3
TKO Round 5 after a hard double right hand

    39-35 Trinidad with a 10-8 1st and 10-8 4th

In round 1 he nailed Joppy with a left hook and Joppy turned his head and never looked back straight and got nailed again

In 4 Joppy went down and fell again like Judah vs Zoo frankly I'm surprised he didnt stop it

Frank Buglioni vs Lee Markham (May 9, 2015) (10 Rounds for the WBO European Super-Middleweight Title)

    Round 1: 10-9 Markham
    Round 2: 10-9 Markham
    Round 3: 10-9 Buglioni
    Round 4: 10-9 Buglioni
    Round 5: 10-9 Buglioni
    Round 6: 10-9 Markham
    Round 7: 10-9 Buglioni
    Round 8: 10-9 Markham
    Round 9: 10-9 Buglioni
    Round 10: 10-9 Buglioni

    My Score: 96-94 Buglioni

Official Scores: (96-94 Buglioni) (96-94 Markham) (95-95 Even)
Winner: Fight was declared a Split Draw, Buglioni retains his title.

Real good scrap, found it interesting that Buglioni is considered the puncher of the 2, but when Markham landed he was definitely landing the harder more eye catching shots. Still I thought Frank was more than active and accurate enough to win this fight outright.

Adrien Broner vs. Vicente Martin Rodriguez | November 26th 2011
    12 rounds @ Super Featherweight
for the vacant WBO World Super Featherweight Title

    Round 1: 10-9 Broner
    Round 2: 10-9 Rodriguez
Round 3: Broner wins by KO

Broner taking the first round comfortably with his jab and some quick attacks. Rodriguez landed a good left and another right hand in the whole round and didn't throw much. Broner had some good moments in the middle of the round where he pressured Rodriguez torwards the ropes/corner of the ring.

Rodriguez pressuring Broner in the first half of the second round with some good hands, he connected clean a couple of times while Broner is on the backfoot. Broner countering with a nice uppercut to start the second half of the round but Rodriguez still pressuring Broner with his jab and a very close distance where both are fighting toe to toe. Rodriguez looking good this round, constant pressure, high work rate, Broner doesn't find a mean to answer and throwing only some soft jabs and a couple of missed uppercuts. Broner lands another good uppercut seconds before the bell.

Rodriguez starting the third round where he finished the second, he is trying to walk Broner down but Broner answering in a much more aggressive way compared to the last round where he only moved out for the entire round. Broner throwing some big counters, missing most of them but still throwing. Rodriguez having Broner in the corner and unloading tons of shots, swinging wild and missing a lot but Broner is definitely in some trouble here but the ref is stopping the scene and both going back to the middle of the ring. Rodriguez still pressuring Broner but he gets countered by a huge uppercut, Rodriguez hurt and shaken. Broner starting to attack throwing heavy hooks and overhand rights, Rodriguez is responding with some wild swinging shots and eats a massive hook which drops him heavily, his nose is bleeding, he is sitting on his ass and looks done. The ref is counting him out and it's over!!!

Donnie Nietes vs Aston Palicte @ 12 rounds for the vacant WBO super flyweight title.

    Round 1 Palicte 10-9
    Round 2 Palicte 10-9
    Round 3 Nietes 10-9
    Round 4 Palicte 10-9
    Round 5 Nietes 10-9
    Round 6 Nietes 10-9
    Round 7 Palicte 10-9
    Round 8 Nietes 10-9
    Round 9 Palicte 10-9
    Round 10 Palicte 10-9
    Round 11 Palicte 10-9
    Round 12 Nietes 10-9

    115-113 Palicte

Very close fight. For me in a potential rematch if Palicte can learn from his mistakes and be more aggressive, he will beat Nietes. :chuck:

Vasyl Lomachenko vs Gamalier Rodriguez (May 2, 1015) (12 Rounds for the WBO Featherweight Title)

    Round 1: 10-9 Rodriguez
    Round 2: 10-9 Lomachenko
    Round 3: 10-9 Lomachenko
    Round 4: 10-9 Lomachenko
    Round 5: 10-8 Lomachenko
    Round 6: 10-8 Lomachenko
    Round 7: 10-8 Lomachenko
    Round 8: 10-8 Lomachenko
    Round 9: KO

    My Score: 79-69 (ATOS)

    Official Scores: (N/A)
Winner: By 9th round Knockout to retain the WBO Featherweight Championship, Vasyl Lomachenko.

Took a round to scout Rodriguez, then proceeded to put on a show. Even showed he learned to foul back if his opponent shows he's willing to hit Lomachenko in the balls all night. Very good performance in the last 8 rounds, but Roy was right, Loma did get tagged with Rodriguez's straight right hand and left hook on a regular basis.

Liam Walsh vs Paul Appleby (September 30, 2011) (12 Rounds for the Commonwealth Super-Featherweight Title)

Round 1: 10-9 Walsh (so close almost scored it even, Walsh one more of the round, but Appleby made it real close)
    Round 2: 10-9 Appleby
    Round 3: 10-9 Walsh
    Round 4: 10-9 Walsh
Round 5: 10-9 Walsh (the crowd is really singing "There's only one Liam Walsh" )
    Round 6: 10-9 Appleby
    Round 7: 10-8 Appleby
    Round 8: 10-9 Walsh
Round 9: 10-9 Appleby (razor close,Walsh did well controlled the 1st 2 + minutes, Appleby came back put Walsh on ***** street and should had a knockdown scored)
    Round 10: 10-8 Walsh (RTD)

    My Score: 95-93 (ATOS)

    Official Scores: (97-92 x 2 Walsh) (96-93 Walsh)
Winner: By 10th round corner retirement/Technical Knockout to retain the Commonwealth Super-Featherweight Championship, Liam Walsh.

Great fight, close to 5 * plenty of drama and back and fourth momentum swings. In the end Paul Appleby just ran out of gas, the announcers did state on more than one occasion how sweltering hot it was in the building that night. After going all in for the knockout two separate times in the 7th and 9th Appleby had no more in the tank. Great engine for Liam Walsh in this fight. I found it funny when asked how Enzo Maccarinelli (who was on commentary) scored the 9th he said "I don't know, I don't even know what I making to do this." I paraphrased a little but still lol.
