Agreed I think this fight has been given some strange revision by Wilder haters

I have seen people say Szpilka was ahead and out boxing Wilder

I was at the fight and Szpilka fought very well make no mistake and he was a tricky target and Wilder struggled to get going but by the time he knocked him out the momentum was all Wilder, he was ahead and pulling away and then ended the fight

Was a good fight with a crazy crowd

Ryoichi Taguchi vs. Hekkie Budler @ 12 rounds for the WBA, IBF & RING Light Flyweight titles.

    Round 1 - Budler 10-9 Close
    Round 2 - Budler 10-9
    Round 3 - Budler 10-9
    Round 4 - Budler 10-9
    Round 5 - Budler 10-9
    Round 6 - Budler 10-9
    Round 7 - Taguchi 10-9 Close
    Round 8 - Budler 10-9
    Round 9 - Taguchi 10-9
    Round 10 - Taguchi 10-9 Close
    Round 11 - Budler 10-9
    Round 12 - Taguchi 10-9

    116-112 Budler

A close, but clear win by the south african white boy. This was non stop action by both men from the opening bell to the final. Budler's strategy was to get inside and not let Taguchi use his height advantage, but Taguchi usually isn't a man who uses it and most of the time he decides to go toe to toe with opponents, however in this fight it backfired as Budler pretty much was outhustling him with his speed and ring savviness. I felt that Taguchi had a bad gameplan for this fight. He and his team probably watched the Byron Rojas fight and thought to himself that he would do the same, but the problem was he didn't have the same punch output as Rojas nor the hand speed. Budler himself was very impressive, before the fight I thought he was gonna get beaten up by Taguchi, but I clearly wrong as in this fight Budler showed some really impressive skills. From the angles in which he threw his punches, the way he lured Taguchi into counters, the way he slipped his punches and overall showed a very good engine and determination. The referee did a decent job, except that he missed a clear knockdown in round 12 by Taguchi, which sucked.

On a sidenote it looks like Budler will face off against Hiroto Kyoguchi in Macau on the Ioka vs Nietes card and that should be a great fight. I would favor Kyoguchi in that one, I think his power and youth would prove too much for Budler. :chuck:

Joe Calzaghe vs Bernard Hopkins - 12 Rounds at Light-Heavyweight.

I remember scoring this initially 6-6, meaning the first round KD gave Hopkins the W in my book.
    But this was years ago.

    This content is protected

    Round - 1 Hopkins + KD
    Round - 2 Hopkins
    Round - 3 Hopkins
    Round - 4 Hopkins

Thus far, Hopkins is the one landing the clean punches. Calzaghe is frustrated because he is unable to land anything solid and Hopkins' dirty tactics are throwing him off.
    Round - 5 Hopkins
    Round - 6 Hopkins

Calzaghe is inching closer, but he rarely lands anything clean and effective. Hopkins keeps landing nice, crisp counter shots.
    Round - 7 Calzaghe
Joe is finally finding his timing.
    Round - 8 Calzaghe
    Round - 9 Calzaghe
    Round - 10 Hopkins
    Round - 11 Calzaghe
    Round - 12 Calzaghe

7-5 Hopkins + the first round KD.

Lederman was as horrible as ever. He once again scored activity over actual boxing. He truly was a cancer to the sport.
The HBO staff was there to educate the audience, and besides Kellerman, they all came up short.
Max was on point that night. He was objective and paid close attention to what was happening.

Kellerman was right in saying that Hopkins took the 5 minute breather in the 10th and it rejuvenated him. In my eyes it won him the fight.

 Joe Cortez sounded winded in the 12th.

Wlad definitely figured him out a bit in the later rounds, but it was too little too late.

    Round 1 - Nietes 10-7
    Round 2 - Nietes 10-9
    Round 3 - Nietes KO

Not much to say really. This was a routine victory for Nietes, he dropped Gutierrez a few times and closed the show in the third. :chuck:

On a side note Nietes vs Ioka is gonna be awesome!

Danny Jacobs v Sergiy Derevyanchenko - IBF Middleweight Title - 27th October 2018

    RD1: Jacobs - 10-8
    RD2: Derevyanchenko - 19-18
    RD3: Dereyvanchenko - 28-28
    RD4: Jacobs - 38-37
    RD5: Derevyanchenko - 47-47
    RD6: Jacobs - 57-56
    RD7: Jacobs - 67-65
    RD8: Jacobs - 77-74

    RD10: Derevyanchenko - 96-93
    RD11: Derevyanchenko - 105-103
    RD12: Derevyanchenko

    Jacobs - 114-113

The knockdown was enough to win it on my card. Had 6, 9 & 11 as swing rounds, so I wouldn't argue with people having it a couple of points either way.

    Round 10 - Plant 10-9
    Round 11 - Plant 10-9
    Round 12 - Plant 10-9

    Plant 120-108

Very good performance by Caleb Plant. Showed good footwork, a solid jab which kept Porky at distance all night and the ability to fight off the ropes when Medina cornered him. Albeit though this wasn't the best version of Medina with that bum leg. Despite the many flush shots Medina took, he was never really hurt by those shots and you have to wonder whether or not Plant will have the power to get Uzcategui's respect.

Issac Dogboe vs Emanuel Navarrete (December 8, 2018) (12 Rounds for the WBO Super Bantamweight Title)

Round 1: 10-9 Navarrete (Dogboe starts out strong, Navarrete evens it up by the end & hurts Dogboe to edge it)
Round 2: 10-9 Navarrete (big round for Navarrete, swarms all over Issac hurting him again)
Round 3: 10-9 Navarrete (slower round, but Navarrete stuns Dogboe again here)
Round 4: 10-9 Dogboe (first clear round for Issac, the first was a swing round imo)
Round 5: 10-9 Navarrete (came back strong, hurt Dogboe again had Issac retreating)
Round 6: 10-9 Navarrete (all Navarrete, Dogboe tried to finish string but Navarrete took that from him too)
Round 7: 10-9 Dogboe (looked like Navarrete took most of the round off, still good work done by Dogboe)
Round 8: 10-9 Dogboe (big round for Issac, Navarrete tired now tooks a lot of punishment)
Round 9: 10-9 Navarrete (close round, Dogboe started well, Navarrete had a better 2nd half then Dogboe the 1st)
Round 10: 10-9 Navarrete (Dogboe's starting to look really busted up now)
Round 11: 10-9 Navarrete (Dogboe just getting beat up now)
Round 12: 10-9 Navarrete (Dogboe on retreat all round, Navarrete still managed to punish him for half the round)

    My Score: 117-111 Navarrete

    Official Scores: (116-112 x 2 Navarrete) (115-113 Navarrete)
Winner: By Unanimous Decision to win the WBO Super Bantamweight Championship, Emanuel Navarrete.

Very good fight, Dogboe felt the power early and had no answers when his own power was having very little effect on the challenger. I could see giving Dogboe the first & maybe the 9th but there can be no doubt who won this fight. I'd like to see Roman vs Doheny & Vargas vs Navarrete first then the winners fight each other to unify 122. How the hell you gonna have Juan Francisco Estrada who just entered SBW at #2 moving unknown Navarrete straight to #1 in the division off 1 win against Dogboe now #3, who still btw is ranked ahead of Roman #4 :nusenuse: BoxRec rankings :duh
