Yep it’s been said he fights down to the level of his opponents, not sure if that’s true but one things for certain his peers don’t view him as someone who can’t box.
I’ve never been a fan of his but I can see he’s respected and feared which annoys the hell out of his haters lol

So... i just watched Hopkins-Dawson I, and i thought Hopkins won the first round. Which made me want to take another look into the rematch. (Not that bad of a fight... for me at least)

I actually did score Hopkins-Dawson II live. (at 7 ****ing AM with no sleep whatsoever. ****ing nightmare of a night it was!)
I think i gave Hopkins 1 round back then. But this was when i actually knew quite little about the sport.

So let's give it another watch and see if one of the judges 114-114 scorecard holds any merit.

    Hopkins - Dawson II
    R1 - Hopkins
1 minute into the round and Hopkins throws his first real punch, which Dawson block. But Dawson had been active from the opening bell, but made to miss every punch he threw.
 Neither guy landed **** at all! Hopkins with a few body shots and Dawson landed some glancing shots and a good hook at the bell. (Bot Hopkins controlled the pace and made Dawson miss)
    R2 - Hopkins
    R3 - Dawson

Hopkins finished the round quite strong, but i though Dawson was in control for the majority of it.
    R4 - Hopkins
    R5 - Hopkins

These round are stupid ****ing close! Dawson is just missing so wildly but also landing at times. Hopkins himself is barely throwing but he is also landing a few here and there.
    R6 - Dawson
    R7 - Dawson

Most one sided round of the fight so far(not that you can really call it on sided).
    R8 - Dawson
    R9 - Hopkins
    R10 - Dawson
    R11 - Dawson
    R12 - Hopkins

... to my surprise. I thought Dawson was pretty much in control since the sixth with the exception of one close round(9). Hopkins actually benefited from the ref resetting them every 10 seconds.

And so i have it a DRAW :lol::lol: W for Dawson is also fair. I don't see it going to Hopkins in any way.

Both men fought dirty, especially in the first few rounds. Hopkins would pull his usual tactics and Dawson excessively retaliated.
In the later rounds it was Dawson doing a lot of the holding because he knew the ref would break them apart and reset them. Dawson also happily leaned low in defense so he could body up with Hopkins and get separated by the ref.

For Dawson, and to his credit, he adjusted well during the midway point of the fight. He could not get to Hopkins, so he waited for Hopkins to come to him. It paid off as he was able to counter Hopkins just like Hopkins had countered him in the earlier rounds.

For Hopkins, the key factor was the ref. Hopkins was able to easily get on the inside, but he was not allowed to work. Of course it was Hopkins' fault for being overly dirty in the beginning.
IMO Hopkins, whenever allowed to fight on the inside, would somewhat easily handle Dawson.
In the second half of the fight, when Dawson was countering the bull rushing Hopkins, Hopkins would still find success on the inside.

    So for me:
    Hopkins 7-5 Taylor I
    Hopkins 6-6 Taylor II
Hopkins 6-6 Calzaghe (which i think i will rescore)
Hopkins 8-4 Pascal (i think i had it like that)

I love B-Hop, but i will not re-watch the Kovalev fight. :xqw

Deontay Wilder 215 vs Dustin Nichols 398 (2010-07-03)

    Rd1: 10-8 Nichols.

Result: Great hustle and check jab from The Worm in the opening round. Nichols RTD after 1st round due to clogged cardiovascular system. One of those 'We'll never know' fights that demands a rematch.

Victo Galindez vs Yaqui Lopez II (May 6, 1978) (15 Rounds for the WBA Light Heavyweight Title)

    Round 1: 10-9 Lopez
    Round 2: 10-9 Galindez
    Round 3: 10-9 Galindez
    Round 4: 10-9 Lopez

    Round 9: 10-9 Lopez
    Round 10: 10-9 Lopez
    Round 11: 10-9 Lopez
    Round 12: 10-9 Galindez
    Round 13: 10-9 Galindez
    Round 14: 10-9 Galindez
    Round 15: 10-9 Lopez

    My Score: 144-141 Lopez

Official Scores: (148-145 Galindez) (148-146 Galindez) (146-144 Galindez)
Winner: By Unanimous Decision to retain the Light-Heavyweight Championship of the World Victor Galindez.

Lopez is remembered as a guy who was right there at that championship level, but could just never get over the hump. Well he should have here, neither man did much but Lopez brought the fight all night and won the fight with his jab. I can't see a case made Galindez won this fight.

I always thought Alvarez vs Lara was a lot closer than what people said it was, but i never scored it.
What i remember is Alvarez tagging the body while Lara was landing amazing pin point accurate pot shots.

So lets have another look at one of the best fights of 2014.
    This content is protected

    R1 - Lara
To my surprise, Alvarez was able to keep up with the speed and pick off a lot of shots.
    R2 - Alvarez
At the end of the round Lara complained about a left hook to the his back. But he is not realizing that Alvarez is landing those left hooks because he himself is turning into them. (Same reason Angulo got to Lara)
    R3 - Lara
    R4 - Alvarez
    R5 - Lara

What a round! Both guys showing their best work!
    R6 - Lara
    R7 - Alvarez
Lara started extremely strong but came apart by the end of the round.
    R8 - Alvarez
    R9 - Alvarez

    R10 - Lara
    R11 - Lara
    R12 - Alvarez

    And i have it... a DRAW (The ****'s wrong with me?)
115-113 either way is fine. But **** Levi Martinez and his 117-111 Canelo card.

    -What an amazing crowd!
-Malignaggi was on point that night.
-Plus i really feel for Lara, those body shots were brutal and more than plentiful. The mofo had to been pissing blood after the fight.
-Lara's excessive movement did get tiresome to watch near the end, but it won him some good rounds.

    Round 1: 10-9 Holmes
    Round 2: 10-9 Holmes
    Round 3: 10-9 Holmes
    Round 4: 10-9 Holmes
    Round 5: 10-9 Holmes
    Round 6: 10-9 Holmes
    Round 7: 10-9 Holmes
    Round 8: 10-9 Norton
    Round 9: 10-9 Norton
    Round 10: 10-9 Norton
    Round 11: 10-9 Norton
Round 12: 10-10 Even (if had to pick Holmes)
    Round 13: 10-9 Holmes
    Round 14: 10-9 Norton
    Round 15: 10-9 Norton

    My Score: 144-142 Holmes

Official Scores: (143-142 Holmes) (143-142 Norton) (143-142 Holmes)
Winner: By Split Decision to win the WBC Heavyweight Championship of the World Larry Holmes

Great fight, awesome performance by Holmes. Bob Sheridan is the freaking commentator Mr. Even Round himself, could this guy ride the fence anymore. Through 12 rounds this mook managed to score 4 rounds to Norton 2 rounds to Holmes in a fight that looks pretty obvious 8-4/7-5 in favor of Holmes. Basically the rounds Holmes wins with his jab (so like the first 4) Sheridan scores even, Holmes can blast Norton's face and body with 15-20 sick jabs a round, but if Norton manages to land a right or left hook this idiot scores it even. If you can't tell, I can't stand Bob Sheridan, he ruins a great fight for me had to mute it after round 5 when to that point I think he scored 1 round for Holmes and the rest even. Very biased against one fighter always, if you notice he picks the guy he likes and tells you how great and strong they are, while telling you how tired and arm weary the other guy is. Boy he could sure spot talent, given that Holmes was miles better than Norton and a certified ATG, where Norton while a very good fighter is only really known for beating Ali once. Otherwise fantastic fight, 5 stars imo.
