Not so much. It's designed to score points in the amateur ranks. Lots of jabs. Lots of big overhand rights or lefts, depending on the stance. Not a lot of body work. But, if they don't have to leave their families behind ... or move to gaudy Vegas ... and they can stay home ... maybe more of them will hold it together, not go off the deep end and have more sustainable careers.
When did you last watch amateur boxing, 20 years ago? Cuban boxers dig to the body well, they fight well at all ranges. The best Cuban boxer at the moment is Andy Cruz. Arlen Lopez is elite as well. Watch those guys, you seem to be stuck on guys like Kindelan in your mind.
the best thing that could happen would be american promoters signing more Eastern Euros/ more Eastern Euros having the opportunity tp turn pro because we all know and have seen- Eastern Euros adapt far better to the pros than Cubans so many top Cuban amateurs have failed in the pros, and their boring running style sends people to sleep.
definitely not. hence why there's never been a Cuban heavyweight pro world champion. hence why cubans always lose in their biggest fights.
"Cuban sports officials said boxers would receive 80% of the compensation for winning fights, while 15% will go to trainers and 5% to their medical staff." https://www.reuters.com/lifestyle/s...-boxing-after-decades-long-hiatus-2022-04-05/ They can't hire American trainers, or fight in the US for that matter, so long as the embargo persists.

Imagine how many insane prospects turn pro now who are not even Top 15 in the amateur ranks in their weight classes.
