Some good news, some bad news others no news at all. starting for the HW division: Odlanier Solis: after a fair recovery from knee surgery he has found himself involved in those promotional controversies so common in cubans boxers.Don King has prevented him for fights like Adamek. He's getting older(and fatter) still the skills are there. Other than the Klits he can beat anybody. Wins over Larsen and Saglam this year, nothing to brag about. Mike Perez: finally came out of his shell to put a crowd pleasant show with a tragic end.His performance could save him a spot at some big HBO cards, he's a cuban who speaks english and engaged in wars against the big guys.Expected to fight in Bute Pascal undercard. Luis Ortiz: this "prospect"( older than Solis) is undefeated vs less average opposition. He has the size to mix it with the big guys but I'm not sure about the skills yet. He could be another Jorge L Gonzalez.I hope I'm wrong. CW division: Yoan Pablo Hernandez is ruling the division,looked good in his last fight( fought only once last year), hoping to see him against Huck soon. Yunier Dorticos; perfect record 15-0 15 KO, but against nobodies, lets see if he steps up this year. LHW to SMW division: several prospects( Sullivan Barrera LHW already 31 yrs old) nothing for real so far. MW division; half cuban Kid chocolate, ill mention him because he feels himself part cuban( and he is) A force at 160, but i don't see him beating GGG. Jr MW: Erislandy Lara, a great 2013 with wins against world classes like Angulo and Trout, to many, the best 154 pounder( since floyd considers himself a WW) we are hoping for great 2014, next stop should be a rematch with Molina to set up some unfinished business and unify titles. Still, GBP will keep Canelo as far as possible . Yudel Jhonson: after his defeat vs Nelson he's been out of the radar fighting lesser opposition. He has great skills. I hope somebody notice it and put him back in the map. WW division many names wondering around Miami, Ugas and company.Nothing accomplished yet. LW division: Gamboa still wasting his best years without landing a good fight. It upsets me to talk about it. Angelo santana; was rolling like a hurricane till met Mr Bahomir Mamadjonov. He's young and has talent, he should be back. Richar Abril: a big name at 135, holding a belt and avoided by many. But i don't see him holding on for too much. SFW- Rances Barthelemy- going to a big fight next month vs Mendez. If he could establish his jab thru the whole fight he would be hard to beat. But likes to fight at close range and gives away his reach advantage. BW- FW: Rigondeaux had an excellente 2013, just beating Nonito the way he did speaks for itself. His style remains a problem for casuals fans. People talking of a Loma showdown in 2014. I wish he could fight aggressive fighters like Mares,santa Cruz, Frampton others names are welcome to the analysis.
