Solis, Perez and Ortis - all of them have solid skills, and the tools to win ABC belt (against someone not named Klitschko).

But their shape:-( Solis looks like he's on special McDonald's diet programm, Perez is folloving him, and Ortiz... well, Ortiz doesn't look in shape too.

WTF is going with cuban HW's?

They leave the island and are given freedoms they never would have had before and use that freedom to eat and get lazy apparently.

What was wrong with Perez' shape? He won that fight.

He looked fat in front of Jennings and was breathing heavily as early as middle rounds

Don't think he looked fat, but agree with his poor stamina issues. He should do more cardio, but he is probably a bit lazy.

They do look out of shape but perhaps they have a retro 80's tony Tubbs look going on

Shut up. He lost clearly. What was wrong with his "shape"? IDK.... What's wrong with gassing in 5-6 rounds against the best in the world, you tell me?:think

I agree he has clearly stamina issues, but don't think he looked in bad shape.

He should weight at least 10-15 lbs less, naturally he's a very stock/compact guy but that extra mass around the midsection certainly isn't doing him any favors in 12 round fights. He needs to be coming in at 225-230, not close to 250....

I know fat guys with much better stamina than me. Shape could be a little better, thought it was ok, but it wouldn't change his stamina issues.

I changed my pick from Perez UD to Jenni UD after I saw the weighin vid.
That says a lot about the shape he was in.

Cuban HW's problem is KFC, McDonald's, Burger King etc.
He was out of shape, and should have won pretty easily if he came in remotely looking like he did against Mago.

It was only 7 pounds (235 over 242), not that much, but I agree that it looked like he added 20 pounds of fat.

He was 231 against Takam, which means he put on 11 lbs since his last fight.

Hes weighed as little as 222 in his pro career.

It appears that the best Cuban HWs decided to not defect and stay in Cuba.
Or perhaps only the worst are allowed to escape and defect, those Cuban HWs with eating disorders.

Whatever the reason, the crop of defecting Cuban HWs is far inferior to those fighters in lower weights.

The "Cuban School" is located on the corner of Dunkin and Donuts.

    They "train" in the lobby.
