Cuba boxing has been whipping on Russia for decades. Will Russia ever reach the skill level of Cuban fighters?
Russia will probably not reach the pure skill level of Cuba; Cuba will probably not reach the toughness level of Russia. But skills or toughness by themselves dont win fights. Overall, they both have great things going for them, and it will be interesting to see where things are in ten years. Russian's and other Eastern Euro's were only allowed to go pro since the 90s and that's why their influx of fighter's are coming now. Give it time.
You're just jealous of their complexion the most (insert childish emoticon). Play with the cards you've been dealt, and stop peaking over other peoples shoulders (FYI that was an analogy).
For me personally Cuba is easily world's #1 in terms of pure boxing talent, considering their population and amount of quality boxers they have produced. Other than that, I'd be happy to see some Cuban-Russian matchups in the pros.
Seriously Mr Crackhead, if all you got is a complex about your dark complexion stop wasting space here!
I don't usually respond to third-rate troll threads, but I will here just to remind you that the Cuban amateur school was founded by Soviet trainers.
Cubans make great amateur boxers...but the recent wave of Cuban pro fighters have been fairly disappointing. You have Rigo reach the top but the other guys are struggling. Gomez, Johnson, Solis, Gamboa the roider, and Lara has not reached their potential so far, whereas the Russians (More like the Slavs) are starting to break out in Boxing.
This! But wait a minute Cuba has that Yusail Quigg(sp) playing baseball for the Dodgers. Surely if he had picked boxing he would be on his way to being a HW ATG
Central Asia runs amateur boxing at the moment so it's kind of weird to make this thread without at least mentioning this fact.
