Bob Arum did not allow for Gamboa to attend the weigh in for the IBF. It was all a plan so that Mickey Garcia could get a belt without fighting for it. Gamboa is a real champ. Lara didn't got a gift, he got what he deserved a draw, if he had train for that fight he would had take Molina to school and I admit he got out hustle but not beat, he landed the best punches and Molina had the better work rate, it is his fault for taking Molina lightly and on top of that his trainer was in Ireland with Rigondeaux, maybe if Shields was with him last Saturday he could had push him to go for the KO, although he was fighting a Light Heavyweight that night and that might had help Williams to finish the fight. About Gamboa you are wrong again, he was the IBF Champ because he took that belt away from the real Champ Salido (I had posted many time why I think Gamboa was not at the weight in for the IBF tittle, he got paid for letting that belt go and garcia doesn't have to face a real champ noe), and he never fought Johns because Chris turn down the fight every time, he went back to his country and you had never heard from him again, Gonzalez was offered a fight and he too declined the offer, so what do you propose he will do, go to Indonesia and kick Johns a$$ right inside his house, or force Gonzalez to fight him? We all knew Arum will not feed Lopez to Gamboa and we all knew that he will lose to someone else, the writing was on the wall since the Mtagwa fight but Arum refuse to see it, so now what?

You have a great point. This has been happening not just at the pro level but in the amateurs too. The Cubans have been getting " Shafted " like you said ever since I can remember. I can recall the many many times that I saw those crooked referees robbing the Cuban fighters at the amateur Tournaments. In the 2000 or 2001 GoodWill Games, the Cuban Coach got so pissed off at the judges for stealing bouts from them that he took his Team with him and abandoned the competition. This was the first time that the Cubans did this but they had plenty of reason to be pissed.

History kept repeating itself when Casamayor was also robbed against Freitas, Corrales and possibly Castillo too but he kept on fighting like a warrior. Now is Lara's turn to suffer the same fate at the hands of the so called " professional judges ". We can conclude that " the sweet science " is not really appreciated in this Country, they always want to see aggression and the KO's but always disregard the true boxer that has skills. Lara tought Williams what boxing is all about but received a slap in the face for doing so.

It all goes down to money, and since Lara is still not a big name, that's why he got shafted. There's no doubt that Lara will make it big, it's just a matter of time. I just hope that Rigondeaux is watching and taking notes, and becomes more agressive cause he is also a masterful boxer but needs to realize that he can't leave it in the hands of those greedy judges. He has to win and leave no doubt and the best way is winning by TKO/KO. I think Rigo got extremely lucky that the judges didn't steal his performance against Cordoba, but he clearly gave Cordoba a schooling too.

Very soon Rigo will fight Ramos and Rigo will be our next Cuban World Champion. Gamboa will definitely grab many more World Belts in different weight divisions and so will Lara. Solis will be coming back better than before and will also be World Champion. With disgusting robberies or not, the Cubans are here to stay and will show their great and unique skills.

After this fight Lara's name has gone up in value, Martinez was almost unknown and out of the ranks before losing to PW the first fight, right after that he beats Pavlik,KO williams in a rematch and KO the ukranian.Now is ranked #3.

Yep, I have read his biography. He was 100-0 as an amateur, and went up to 48-0 as a pro until his first defeat, ( was the time that he started using marijuana and drinking ). The lavish style, drugs, liquor and women caught up with him and messed up his career for a while but then he came back strong. He was so famous that he used to stop trafic in France when walking the streets. His real love was " white girls ".
